An extremely disrespectful and humiliating experience. Avoid this restaurant!

We were a group of four women. One of us required a bit more seating space to sit comfortably, something that should be accommodated with basic courtesy in any restaurant. We politely asked to be seated at a larger table (a round one with a sofa that seats six), but were refused. Instead, we were placed at a cramped table with rigid seating, even though a group of five with a toddler was given the larger table. This felt dismissive and inconsiderate, especially when the request was based on someone’s clear physical need and not preference.

For starters, we ordered hummus and baba ghanouj. The hummus arrived dry, without olive oil, which we let go. However, the so-called baba ghanouj was not baba ghanouj at all. It was a grilled aubergine, cut in half and topped with minced meat, a completely different dish.

When I politely explained this to the waiter, he took offence and called over another man (not a waiter) who immediately began questioning me rudely, asking whether I had eaten baba ghanouj abroad or in Algeria. I calmly explained that it is a Levantine dish and I have eaten it both here and abroad. His reply was, “This is Algeria,” spoken with a smug, dismissive attitude.

This was not just rude but humiliating, especially as a woman being talked down to by two men over a simple and valid observation. They insisted that this was their “variation” of baba ghanouj, but what they served was something entirely different, more like a main dish, not a starter.

No apology was given. No replacement dish was offered. They simply took the plate away and never came back.

When the mains arrived, the food was just as disappointing. The pizzas were burnt, tasted like plastic and were barely edible. The pasta was average at best. No one checked on us throughout the meal, not even once. The level of customer service was non-existent.

We paid 6000 DA and left hungry, disrespected and disappointed. I asked for the leftover pizza to be packed to avoid wasting food, and when I got home, I found they had included scraps, the burnt end pieces that looked like they had been scraped off someone’s plate.

To make matters worse, as we were leaving, the manager loudly called out to the cashier, “Did you remember to take the baba ghanouj off the bill” as if they had done us a favour. This was said with a tone of sarcasm and still, not a single apology.

This restaurant presents itself as high end, but the reality is poor food quality, shockingly rude staff and no respect for customers whatsoever.

Do not waste your time...

Recommended. A nice clean restaurant with good food and service.

Overall, the taste of the food is good. We had chicken pizza, texas and smokey burgers. The pizza was plain, but tasty. The burgers were good. Thick patty and well seasoned. The sauce for the smokey burger was awesome. The burgers came with a bowl of fries.

The restaurant is clean and has a nice modern ambiance. The service is excellent and quite fast. Our waiting time was less than 10 minutes. Restaurant is run by young, friendly and highly motivated staff. They also speak good English.

Price wise, it's on the lower and mid range. We were billed only 3,100 dinar for 4 foods and 3 drinks. Restaurant also has a good selection of panini, rice platter, skewers and grills. Please view menu.

The only setback about this restaurant is the limited parking space and narrow road in front of the restaurant. It is advisable to park along the Bd Maache Malek main road and walk to...
