TOURIST TRAP: (LA PEOR COMPANIA de Tigre Delta-no se gasten el dinero aqui, ni por el tour ni en el restaurante) This Company is absolutely the worst. We bought our tickets at a booth in the Fluvial Station. We were given two choices: one for 21,000 pesos that included going in a catamaran and making 4 stops during the tour or a 10,000 pesos one that included going on a regular boat and had a stop in "an island" with a restaurant. We also had to pay an additional 4, 000 pesos to get back to our destination. We chose the second one because many people had told us to stay away from the catamarans. We were under the impression that everybody was stopping in this "charming island", and we didn't have any other choice but to stop (there was not a language barrier or miscommunication; my girlfriend who was with me at the time is from a Spanish speaking country). We simply wanted to do a tour around the Delta, and be done with it. When we got to this "island" (please just know it's a restaurant-money maker, tourist trap), we told the staff we didn't want to stay there. We just simply wanted to go back to our destination. The owner of Kanoo, a young arrogant male, told us we could make the best out of it and eat at his beautiful restaurant or simply have a drink (please KNOW there is only a pricey restaurant at this stop, nothing else). Some of the customers waiting for a boat too informed us about the prices, we didn't have interest in eating there either way (we did not look at a menu at any time). These customers were told at the booth where they bought their tickets that lunch there was comparable to the ones in town (another lie). These Argentinian customers also told us what they were charged for the same tour we took, and we could not believe when we found out that they were charged half of what we had paid. While waiting for the boat, I took a sandwich out my bag to eat it, and the owner forbade me from doing so (I have a special diet and needed to eat it, but I couldn't). He kept saying that if we didn't want to stay there, we could flag any boat and get back to our destination. He also said boats went by every fifteen because kids that went to school in this part of the Delta needed to be picked up (that's how kids travel to school there). He was not telling the truth from minute one. I knew kids were out of school for Winter break until July 28th, and many of his staff members confirmed that for us. The tour took place on July 17th. We were stuck on this place for an additional two hours. I don't think the staff knew who was going to pick us up, some said the boat in charge of picking us up looked the same as the one we got in, others said it was a white lancha, others said it was public transportation. We flagged any boat that went by and no one stopped. As we finally were leaving, I heard one of the staff telling a family of six that their boat would not be available for another hour and fifteen minutes. I felt bad for them as they had young children. At the end of the day, we lost our walking tour in town that we had reserved prior to getting to Tigre, as well as the money we had invested. We have been in Argentina for over a month now and know we have had the best time. Everybody has been amazing in this country. Doing business with Kanoo has been our worst experience of the trip. PLEASE BE AWARE of this booth at the Fluvial Station. The person in charge of the booth is Yanet Mendoza, a very nice young woman, that is simply doing what she is told: "Trap tourists". There are many other "boleterias" to buy your tickets. ...
Read moreTerrible place! I took my wife for her birthday to Tigre Delta and booked the tour through the stand marked as Kanoo Delta. We had to stop at a restaurant because we were not given a choice. It was an awful experience. The food was not as affordable as they had described it or delicious for that matter. The owner, a young gentleman, was very arrogant when my wife took a water bottle out and told her that if she wanted to drink something she could order/purchase it with her food. They also held us hostages at the place/restaurant for more than two hours. It is unacceptable that boats go by only every hour, but that doesn't even take place. It was very irritating that we were waiting well above that promised time. I had other plans for my wife's birthday, but the plans had to be postponed due to this irritating situation. Please don't book throught Kanoo if you don't want to be sorry. There are plenty of booths in the Delta to purchase your tickets, and I assure you they are below their prices. What about...
