The location of the stand for las chicas de las 3 is inside a small hallway under signage #28 & #30. You should take a taxi/Uber/Didi there as the place is not so close to the public transportation. I was able to do half and half. Got there by Didi (cheapest at that time) and was able to find my way to the bus stop. Thankfully, they did not have a que. The people came after I was sat and started First and foremost, Pato (short for Patricia) is as genuine as she appears on the Netflix program. When I saw the show, I wondered if her demeanor was just acting- nope she is as kind and as spontaneous as she appears on the show.
They don't have a menu for tourists/visitors. What Pato will do is split the food for you so you can all have a taste of it. I was a solo traveller so she started a box for the leftovers. I was fed 4 half empanadas (The other went into the box for later) 1 portion of their signature tortilla de papa, a slice of pizza with pesto sauce. I managed to finish the slice of pizza but the tortilla went to the box as well. Before she starts feeding you, she will thank you very warmly and welcome you to her restaurant. Asking where you are from, if you have any allergies, dietary concerns, ECT. She has the speech down but she delivers it very warmly and not robotic at all. She shows that she cares for you and she will accommodate you. For example when I arrived, there was a tortilla already started but instead of starting me with that, she instead started with empanadas while a new tortilla was being made fresh in the back by romi, Pato's partner. The empanadas I had the opportunity to eat were: jamón y queso (ham and cheese), carne cortada con cuchillo (meat cut/filleted with knife) The Salsa criolla had some kick to it-that is compared to the level of heat in Argentinian food. It was a very good condiment to add to the empanadas. The Pesto sauce was very good that she added to the pizza-she explained that it does not have any nuts added to it-which came as a surprise since I thought pine nuts (or other nuts) are the key ingredient to make it extra tasty-I thought but proven wrong. all in all was very good experience and worth the visit. Mind you it is not a restaurant most people would make it as it is not in an easily reachable destination but if you are adventurous and want to kill a morning totally worth the trip. Five...
Read moreThere are so many wonderful things to say about this awesome restaurant! Chef Paco was incredibly friendly and welcoming and spoke great English! She thoroughly explained what each food was and the ingredients they used to make them.
The empanadas were the BEST I had in Buenos Aires. I've had many empanadas here and they don't compare to the ones these chefs make. They were juicy on the inside, packed with lots of meat and crispy on the outside.
The ham and cheese tortillas were high in quality. Don't leave here without buying this! They are very crispy but also soft and moist on the inside. The crispy potatoes matched very well with the savory cheese inside the tortilla. I highly recommend this dish! Top 5 food in Buenos Aires. I want to eat this again before I leave.
The triangular chicken dish was tasty too. It reminded me of chicken pot pie.
The salsas, one regular and one spicy, goes very well with all the dishes. You can taste that they are fresh. Definitely ask for refills.
They also give you a to-go box for first time visitors/foreigners like me that Chef Paco calls a "happy box." I definitely recommend taking some home! Most definitely worth buying some.
These women are definitely going to be a big hit in the future! Don't forget to try this place! I definitely recommend it. Thank you Chef Paco and Chef Romi! Very good service, attention...
Read moreIt was quite an adventure getting here but the trek was well worth it and my meal at Las Chicas de La 3 was definitely one of the highlights of a recent visit to Buenos Aires.
First off, the women who work here are marvels at what they do and watching them work together is a performance full of grace and beauty. Their movements and nonverbal communications are fluid and the service combined with the excellence of the quality and taste of the food make this place an unquestionable perfect review for me, personally.
I convinced my Uber driver to join me for my meal and and extra stomach was a must as I tried to make my way through the various offerings. The empanada we were presented with to start was sublime…perfectly made and robust in flavor it was split into two parts with one more traditional with minced meat, olive, and eggs and a more contemporary one with ground beef and cheese that was melt in your mouth good.
The pizza was, of course, delicious but so was every other item we tried including the artery clogging but divine tortilla.
Pato and Romi are exceptional and in the many places I’ve been blessed to dine, this one stands out as a place full of warmth and love and that is clearly apparent...
