Cute place right on the water. Lovely stone and wood interior with a large open fireplace kept crackling. Our waitress was friendly. Unfortunately it is dark before most people eat dinner so we just enjoyed a bit of the lit water just below our window table.
The merluza (I think it’s cod but the menu calls it black hake) was fresh, delicious and well cooked. We opted for the cetolla (they call it king crab but it’s not nearly the size of king crab I’ve had before) and at ARG18,000 pesos we didn’t love it. The squid appetizer was fresh and delicious, nicely fried. The accompanying sauces for the crab and the squid were quite ordinary, should be rethought. You get a nice basket of bread with a soft cream cheese blend with onions and garlic.
If you drive, this is on the outskirts of town and the entrance for parking comes before the restaurant so drive slowly and look ahead. Very narrow parking...

The waitress spoke excellent English.
I was walking to get a good picture of the mountains, and by happy accident, I found this place for a light lunch.
The bread came with a small bowl of oil-pickled mussels, which was great prelude to any seafood dish. Accordingly, I ordered the tapas with wonderfully spiced prawns and cheese (and avocado, sun-dried tomatoes), which was surprisingly served on a dark bread, that the waitress assured me was dyed with squid ink! Sounds strange,...
Read moreWith a view like this, you could easily write off the food. But don’t be mistaken - this is a serious treat, one of the best spots nestled along the waterfront just outside of Ushuaia. The obvious order is the T-Bone steak, but the surprise is the unctuous Hake, served with a fluffy bed of risotto dressed in black squid ink. Be sure to order a bottle of Yocochuya no matter what, absolutely worth it. Lastly, the icing on the cake is the staff - kind, funny, and thoughtful. He insisted we decant the wine for enough time to enjoy and left us laughing. Unforgettable night with dear friends, delicious food, and a...
