We stayed at Noy Land Resort for two nights. To sum up in advance: This was the worst place we stayed at during 10 days in Armenia. Only one positive remark: The staff was really friendly! Everything else was a huge disappointment! This is why:||||We had booked a cottage that, upon arrival, seemed like a trip back to the 1960s. The cottage hasn’t been renovated for at least two decades, it was dark, the wind was blowing through the doors and windows and the bathroom was smelling of mould. Disgusting! As already said, the staff is really friendly and upon request offered us to stay in another cottage. This one was much smaller (and one category below the one we had booked) but we did not mind as it was more „modern“ – or better: Not from the 1960s, but at least from the 21st century.||||After checking into our new cottage, we had had to kill at least 50 bugs (wasps, spiders, etc.). Yes, the place is right at the lake and of course there are bugs, but if you check into a hopefully cleaned room, this is just not acceptable… not talking about all the dead bugs that were already there upon our arrival and the general condition of the room (superficially cleaned, but stains, dust, etc in the corners, windows etc.). You can tell by the marks of 1000 dead bugs all over the walls that we weren’t the first to encounter this problem.||||We did not sleep well at Noy Land resort which is partly a result of old beds/matrasses, partly of missing curtains (the „curtains“ that are in the cottage don’t block sunlight at all, hence we woke up at 6am), partly of people sitting at the lake right outside our cottage, drinking and listening to music until 3am. The bathroom of our cottage seemed more or less clean, but the shower was a joke. The water was only dripping out of the shower head, making it almost impossible to have a proper shower.||||One more thing: When looking for a place at Lake Sevan, we absolutely wanted to have an outdoor swimming pool. This place has one, but we were very disappointed to find out that it was not in use and there was no water in the pool due to cleaning that was in progress for the entire length of our stay. The hotel had not informed us about this, neither in advance nor upon check-in.||||We only had breakfast on the first morning – and decided to skip it on the second. The restaurant does not feel very inviting and the breakfast offer was, both in terms of variety and quality, the worst we had during our entire stay in Armenia. Also, they don’t start breakfast until 9am which is very late and quite inconvenient if you want to do day trips to explore Lake Sevan (like we planned).||||So, all in all, this is a one-star review. We believe that there are three essential criteria for a hotel: A clean room, a comfortable bed and a working bathroom. None of this was given, hence one star. Yes, some parts of the resort have been done with much love for detail, but what’s the point of having a „yacht club“ and an old plane on your premises, if the basics criteria are not met!? Also, given the level of quality, we found the rooms to pricy (and have stayed in excellent hotels, for example in Yerevan, for less money. So, our advice: Don’t stay at Noy...
Read moreWe stayed 2 days at one of the most expensive cottages at Noyland Hotel in Sevan. The place has some great features like a peaceful atmosphere, stunning sunset views, and cool displays including a real Yak-40 plane, a tank, and a military vehicle. However, the stay was disappointing overall. The cottage had lots of spider webs and was full of insects. The giant cottonwood tree nearby released tons of fluff, which triggered allergies for me and others, and the fluff even covered the pool, so we didn’t swim (I would suggest burning or cutting that tree). The playroom was in a catastrophic condition, with no one looking after it. Food options were limited, especially desserts, and some meals were either overly salty or too sweet. The kitchen staff were slow to respond, didn’t replace cutlery when it ran out, didn’t clear our table when they noticed it was full of dirty plates and had no space, and even refused to give us a proper bottle of water from the kitchen. Our experience here didn’t match the high...
Read moreOne of the worst places in Armenia if you consider service, with extremely rude staff. They have no competition on Sevan and that's why they can treat you horribly. We booked a small sauna, upon arrival learnt that the hammam in the sauna didn't work and there was no bucket with cold water for refreshing contrast shower after the hot sauna. No one told us about it when we were booking. The water in the lake was dirty and the stairs into the water were very dangerously slippery - seems like no one bothers to clean them. When we voiced our complaints about the broken hammam and the bucket, and that we don't see why we should pay full price for incomplete service, instead of at least apologising, the manager Mgher went out of his way to aggressively fight off every complaint and spoilt our evening by his outstanding rudeness and totally anti-client-oriented approach. We were humiliated and were made to pay full price. We will NEVER come back to Noy Land and will tell everyone not...
