I went to this Charcoal Chicken Shop with much anticipation after reading so many good reviews and a few friends recommending it to me. It was good but didn't rock my world. I ordered the 1 quarter chicken (wing) and chips with gravy. It was a solid portion not over large but not small either. The gravy was the best part of the meal savoury and flavoursome. The chips were soft in the middle and soft on the outside not my preferred soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. It is always a good judge of a chicken shop if they can serve a quarter of chicken, (the wing) and retain the moisture, especially if the quarter has been sitting for a little while. This was good chicken but not great it was just on the dry side of being moist. A fresh cut quarter might be different. I had a few morsels of stuffing which hinted at a greater treasure awaiting a lucky customer who had a bigger portion. I will go back because the boss burger looks enticing. Next I will get a fresh whole chicken to give it the best chance of perfection, it nothing else to access some more of the gravy and stuffing. It sure is popular though, I recommend calling ahead.

The best Charcoal Chicken anywhere in SA! Honest, well priced, and amazing food everytime. Never hit and miss, always guaranteed a great feed and the biggest grin from the owner when you open that door. Smash pack pictured (lets be honest they never look too appealing) but loaded with flavour and always served with pitta bread 👌

Used to love the smash packs here but something has changed for the worse. The chips are no longer crispy, lamb is chewy and lacks flavour, hardly any cheese and the sauce is lazily and minimally spread instead of the perfect dosing they used to dish up. Sad to say the cheek av smashy is dead. RIP

Of this chook access centre I speak no ills. I leave my children here unchecked and staff happily let them run around the kitchen area. When I eventually come back I get a small serve of pasta salad for all of them to share in the carpark. I enjoy sitting in the line of strangers staring at the counter as more and more people who don't know what they want pile in. I have never ordered chicken from here before tho unfortunately. Only the seafood sticks and pasta salad. I mostly peel the crumbing off of the sticks and feed it to my thin lipped husband, Traegerdale, and I consume the white reconstituted fish compound. This is mutual symbiosis and we are happily codependent on each other and the chicken access centre. We run a system where we make money off the government by having children, the more we breed the more we feed, or the more children we invent the bigger we can get. Once Traegerdale has consumed enough crumbed skins to reach his target mass of 120kg then we will stop. Until then we will keep coming back to this chook...

This has been my local chicken shop for the last 10 years, it's upsetting that last year or so has slowly been on the decline to the point ill no longer be returning. (I'd been continuing to order here for the last 12mths off and on hoping it was a temporary hiccup) But unfortunately the other week was the final straw, I officially received the worst burgers I've ever eaten! Buns were so soggy from going strait from the freezer to the grill that they were that inedible, all 4 of us threw them out. $40+ in the bin🤮 Its so disappointing that this place has gone so far downhill. It used to be fantastic when the couple that owned the shop were taking charge and took pride in it, they are such lovely people too. Now its run by crew of slobs old and young that just don't care and or have no idea how to produce quality food. Fingers crossed this place returns to the great shop it used to be. When this happens, which I hope it will, i will happily return to buy food for my...
