Chinmi — Restaurant in Adelaide

Quite disappointed. The meals going out around us looked nice but we drew the short straw with ours. Entrees fish cakes were dripping in grease. Kuay Teow also very greasy. Ordered Seafood Kuay Teow but all that was in it was a few prawns that were obviously just packet frozen ones and the rest of dish mostly just noodles and oil and a bit of egg. The massaman is described on menu as coming with potatos, not a single potato in the dish and the sauce was very watery, not a creamy sauce or thick as described or you would expect from a massaman. I ordered rice to go with but shouldn't have bothered because there wasn't enough sauce to soak any up and the dish was more like entrees size. Paid $5 for teapot jasmine tea for 2 and you couldn't taste it with only a single teabag in a lot of water. Sorry, but we ordered a chicken laksa and duck bao buns through uber eats.

The baby corn in the laksa was off, and something in the duck bao bun was off. Poor form, as both dishes we had to gag and spit it out.

Also, Incorrect noodles were given in our order.

We called to let the venue know these issues, not going the refund route on uber eats. The owner promptly replied with “impossible, its precooked so it cant be off” ….. so since my partner has been a chef for 10years, its impossible that precooked food can go off? I must not know what off food tastes like. Then what she is saying is that her food just tastes like rotten food. Its not rotten, it just tastes that way normally.

All your favourites, Bao buns, satays, dumplings, kwai teow, pad thai, lemon grass chicken, tempura eggplant, the best fried rice and more. Everything I've tried has been fresh and fantastic.
