I always admire the d'Anrenbery Cube as a one of the landmarks of South Australia. Finally, I took my family to visit Adelaide and wanting to check out the winery there. However, we arrived at 9.15am, the onsite staff told my parents that they don't open until 10 am and don't walk around because of they found brown snakes in the field yesterday. So I have told my family and make sure they understand and don't walk around.

So we started taking pictures of the amazing cube. My parents went to the other side of the road and just? enjoy?the scenery. Mind you all the vineyard is being blocked by all the wired fence, you cannot walk into it, you only can stand on the side of the road. The same onsite staff started yelling at my parents, her behavior was so rude and outrageous, she said I told you don't want into it, if you got beaten by brown snake it is your fault. I appreciate your warning and we got your mesage. But you don't have to yelled at us, her behavior made us so uncomfortable and so not awkard to be there, we were forced to leave the site ASAP.

My question to you - Dear D'Anrenberg team are, if you worried about your custoners get attacked by brown snakes so much, wouldn't you be cancel the open the open for that day? Because it is such a tourists attracttion, people who come for the restaurant or wine tasting, they will do what we did, walking on the road and taking pictures. will you go after them and yelled at them?

the temperature of Adelaide was 40+ degrees yesterday, do you really see snakes wondering around and wanting to get burned in the high heat? Also she keeps mentioned brown snakes, it that's really often to see in the vineyard? According to that staff member, there are lots of brown snakes in the fields.

you should check out chateau tanunda Barossa Valley, they have better customers service than you. We visited Barossa Valley yesterday and had such a pleasant time. And every winery we go,all staff members were super friendly.

Last but not the least, my hands were shaking when I wrote this review, i cannot bear to see my family got yelled out on holidays. why you are so rude to us, dear d'Anrenbery team? I am someone who always give people 5 stars reviews and not bothered by anything but when you are rude to my family, thats a big No.Unfortunately, will have to tell all my other family and friends not to bothered visiting your winery since Asian customers are so not welcomed there! I cannot even enjoy the rest of my trip coz your poor customers service we received today! The...

I actually had very mix feelings about this place, had come to d'Arenberg in the past before the Cube was complete and really enjoyed the tastings and atmosphere. Now with the Cube complete i was excited to see it for myself and was quite confused with the end result and a bit disappointed with the wine tasting.

You start by entering a room with all the walls covered in fake fruit and jars that had different smells that you may find in the wines you try. I thought this was quite cool and different. Then you continue to a small theater type room that plays a 360 degrees 10 minute "film" which was quite bizzar and to me had no meaning and couldnt understand how it reflected to anything i was experiencing. After the film you enter a sensory room which has one fun object in the center and then I wanted to move on. You finally enter a lift to go to the top floor and enter the tasting room, which has really nice views of the Mclaren Vale area, it felt very sterile though, as if you had made a trip to the cbd.

By this point in time i was wanting to go anywhere else, there were a few reasons for this. They had no control over how many people are up there and it felt too crowded, to do our tasting took at least 30-40 minutes and at point my family and i were shoulder to shoulder trying to try our wines. We were also forgotten about on a few occasions, and to top it off there was minimal discription given to us about the wine we were trying and every couple of wines there would be a different staff servicing us, it was obviously understaffed and there was no stability. Because of this i couldnt enjoy any of the wines and was dissapointed i had paid $10 for this "experience". Only thing i truly enjoyed was the staircase down, very cool (ill insert a picture). Btw- would recommend using the toilets as its just really bizzar, did nothing but laugh in confusion.

I truly hope everyone has a better experience then we did this day and that the d'Arenberg winery sorts out the staffing and tasting issues. They tried something different and bold but unfortunately many people will have mixed feeling as i did. It is very much a tourist destination now so probley will not return but i hope it turns out to be a good thing for the Mclaren Vale area and...

This is the second time in 4 months I've visited, dined and "wine tasted" here with friends from overseas and interstate. On Sunday I brought friends from interstate here to experience The Singapore Circus dining accompanied by D'Arenberg wine because it is her favourite wine. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our degustation lunch and add wine tasting, and we said yes, why not. The lady downstairs said because we upgraded, we can also view the exhibition for free which we weren’t interested in, but she gave us tokens anyway, but also gave us the receipt and said if we have any issues upstairs just show them the receipt. The food was absolutely amazing as always although the service wasn't that great this time round. We then had to rush upstairs for our tasting because we weren't told that tasting stopped at 4pm, keeping in mind our lunch was only booked for 2pm. When we arrived upstairs, we were met with Amy who told us we had to pay for the wine tasting because our receipt was for the exhibition. I looked at my husband and spoke to him directly saying, “but that's not what the lady downstairs told us when we arrived”, and Amy proceeded to say to me “please change the tone of your voice, I don’t appreciate the tone”. I was absolutely taken aback and disgusted since I wasn’t even talking to her. There were 4 of us and we were all there when the lady downstairs offered us wine tasting, PLUS I was the designated driver, so had nothing to drink. But I think Amy just assumes when someone doesn't speak at her level of tone, which by the way is very intimidating, rude, and sarcastic, that they had too much to drink and treat them all accordingly. What was meant to be an amazing experience and day, she singlehandedly turned into an embarrassing experience I’d rather forget. And what a bad example for our friends from interstate, especially since they couldn’t stop talking about how friendly everyone in SA is and how good the service has been everywhere. At least we had the beautiful Kim doing the wine tasting with my husband and friends and what a delight she was, but unfortunately Amy left a nasty taste that will linger for some time. Really...

After a while winery visits get boring. The wines are good and the food is good but you can say the same about pretty much all of the wineries I've ever been to (and I've been to loads). Until now there's only one winery I've thought was exceptional and that was Spier in South Africa (wine tasting, food, hotel, Cheetah rescue centre, bird of prey rescue centre). But the D'arrenberg winery and Cube are up there too now. The ground floor museum is fascinating, interactive and thought provoking. There are hidden gems and various veiled references that make sense if you then look at the wines. The toilets on the first floor are quite stunning (think Madonna Inn at San Luis Obispo). The views from the tasting area of the cube were excellent too. It was well worth the $10 entry fee and occupied a good few hours. If you only have 30 minutes to spare you will struggle to see and understand everything and fit in some wine tasting. The staff there were excellent. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and not condescending. Also take time to look at the art work - the rubber boot band in particular (see picture) was excellent.
