Nev's Café — Restaurant in Adelaide

Food is fine but wait staff are incompetent. My wife asked for the Eggs Benedict on Hash Brown, but with the hash brown on the side and a slice of toast on the bottom. They said this was fine when she ordered but it came out without the slice of toast. When she asked them to add the toast on they took it back and made an entirely new meal, completely different to what she ordered. They then tried to argue with her that this is what she ordered until finally coming back with a third meal which had everything except the avocado. When she asked for the avocado they told her she would have to pay extra despite it being in the original meal that she paid for. My wife, being non-confrontational just declined to have the avocado in the end. Throughout the experience she was made to feel like she was in the wrong for expecting them to provide what she had paid for!

In conclusion, three separate incorrect meals were prepared, and wait staff argued with her despite the receipt showing exactly what she ordered, and then tried to charge her extra for what she ordered in the first place.

Edit: The response from the owner shows once again that he is not listening - we were not asking for extra avocado, we were asking for the avocado that comes with the menu item that we had ordered, but was not supplied. We had already paid for...

Lovely place to stop for some brunch. Especially if you’re heading this way. The cafe conveniently provides its own parking lot, and has a wide range of menu items available - including smoothies, bowls, burgers, grilled focaccia sandwiches, and pizzas, as well as cabinet food, both sweet and savory. Went for the Açaí Bowl (Original Açaí) and it was absolutely lovely, by far the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The serving was very generous and left me filling full and ready for the day, and was adorned with fresh fruits and a simply irresistible soft and delicious granola. Smoothies and coffee were also delicious which is another massive positive. The atmosphere was busy but genuine, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming! There is also a special place to order takeaway coffee as well as some pastries if you just want to quickly get your morning fix without standing in the same line as everyone ordering breakfast. We have been going to Nevs for 10 plus years not so regular in last 2 years however today we stopped in for breaky . Super busy, customers moving plates from tables to be able to sit 2 staff members walking past used tables not collecting them. My husband's breaky came out then we had to go prompt for mine after 15 minutes & when it came it was cold.!! Coffee was lovely but just warm I seen it sitting for 5 minutes b4 been delivered to us. I don't know if Nev still owns this cafe??? , sadly dissapointed. I wanted to at 1 stage clear off tables. !! Didn't see any tables being wiped over . The serving lady was hard to understand. 1 young girl was none stop but another just staying behind counter and looked a bit anxious, not coming out clearing tables or to sanitize . ..I felt a bit shocked at our experience today .
