Food was alright, but no decent tasting food in the world could overshadow the blatantly rude service. It’s unfortunate one person can put a dampener on your outing so much. My friend and I were so excited to go out and share a cocktail, we don’t get to go out a whole lot, so it’s a real treat. As we were ordering and paying for my friends drink for her Birthday, I was trying to make light conversation with Paul, the bartender. I lightly and excitedly said ‘it’s my friends birthday, so we’re out having a cocktail’. We were pretty dressed up and thought it might make my friend feel special if a stranger said ‘Happy Birthday’ to her. He coldly looked back at us and said ‘it’s mine too.’ I said ‘oh my gosh, is it?!’ Paul replied with a rude sarcastic look on his face. ‘No.’ His tone was just the rudest tone I’ve ever heard. He was sarcastic beyond belief and made us feel really horrible for just being in the establishment. I just wanted my girlfriend to feel special and he went out of his way to be rude. It was completely uncalled for. Then it was clear he wanted us to go away so we did. We waited more than 10 minutes for the drink and looked over to see he was making other drinks. My friend went over to enquire and he said ‘yeah well I’ve already made it’ , in his usual tone. My friend clearly hadn’t received her drink. I later looked around and could see one of the staff had sent it to the wrong table and it was being drunk by another patron. He refused to refund any money and basically accused my friend of drinking the drink and saying she hadn’t got it. My friend was pretty upset at this point. He eventually did make another drink. She promptly drank it and we got out of there as fast as we could. Safe to say I won’t be returning. Extremely disappointed. It doesn’t take much to just treat people in a friendly manner. We don’t want anything special, we just wanted to have a nice time. Would have stuck around a lot longer if we weren’t made to feel the way we were, especially when it was so unequivocally uncalled for. We weren’t rude, we weren’t roudy. We ordered a total of two drinks and that’s the last two...

EXTRAORDINARY, but not for the reasons you may suspect, considering the extensive renovations & considerable expence that management invested in this enterprise, why, WHY would you let your establishment blemish at the last hurdle... the QUALITY of the food presented left much to be desired, if you insist on providing mediocre fare, then please charge mediocre prices & no complaints will entail scrutiny... we had a pizza that was bereft of any meaningful toppings, we had blueberry & almond with caramel sauce sweet, the presentation an embarrassment... I know you need to make a profit, I appreciate you have overheads, but what you present is in the main not good value, you can burn your customers once, but profit is ensured with repeat business... we like this pub, the staff are good & the ambience pleasant, we have been regulars for 8 years, but you need to lift your game in dining or find a new cook/chef... you have a good & loyal clientele, surprise them with better product & your success is assured, cheers...

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE, the standard has improved dramatically past year or so, I found the staff excellent, attentive & mostly accommodating, it's a pleasure to return on a regular basis, the quality has risen above the previous 2 star rating I gave prior - I look forward to completion of their renovations & we will continue our patronage, cheers.

Very disappointing experience, the quality of food average and the service substandard. I made a complaint and it fell on deaf ears. I did go a second time thinking perhaps it was an off night, but nope, nothing had changed. At least they're consistent. This is sad because the ambience and setting is quite good, but I have never experienced so many staff with that " I wish I wasn't here, but I need the money look" - very poor attitude. I haven't been back for quite awhile and don't plan to revisit, but it appears popular and perhaps you should explore for yourself, but I'm done with this...

Not happy at all. Booked here for my birthday dinner... booked outside in the beer garden as it looked really nice on their website... they called me to confirm my booking and asked if I still wanted to be in the beer garden to which I replied yes. When we got there we were shown to our table which was right in front of a kids play area! Beer garden... what a joke its a kids playground! We couldn't hear ourselves talking over the screaming kids! Not once was I told it was also a play area or I would have requested a indoor table. The staff were hopeless... no one seemed to know what they were doing. It took nearly 20 minutes for the cocktail my partner ordered me to come out. It was only a Mojito... when the meals were bought out they didn't get 3 of them right... one came out and all the girl said was schnitzel and gravy... so we thought it was for one of our guests turns out it wasn't his it was another one of our guests but because all she said was schnitzel and gravy we didn't know.... then they didn't know where his was.... my friend had baked potato and coleslaw with hers I said oh yours came with that it looks great! She said it was a option to change it for that instead of chips and salad on the menu... the person taking the order never said to me that I could have that instead.... shouldn't that be offered? The garden salad was not very nice... mixed lettuce one tomato wedge and 2 slices of red onion.. couldn't taste a dressing..... had to send my son in for a fork as they gave us to many knives and no fork... Also no salt and pepper on the table so he asked for that at the same time to be told its on the table.. I had to ask another waitress who came outside for salt and pepper.... if it was on the table he wouldn't have been asking for it! All in all won't...
