We stumbled upon Fowles Wine by chance during our drive to Bright and Mt. Hotham, and I'm so glad we did! We were just looking for a quick lunch spot, but we found so much more.

On our first visit, I had this amazing grilled lamb rump that hit the spot perfectly. The food was so good that we actually decided to stop by again on our way back to Melbourne. This time, I treated myself to a mouthwatering 250g eye fillet steak. I can't remember exactly what my wife and kids ordered, but I do know there were no complaints - just happy faces all around!

My wife got to enjoy a glass of their wine (lucky her - I was driving), and she couldn't stop raving about it. It made me wish I could have tried some too!

What really stood out to me was how friendly everyone was. The staff were always ready with a smile and seemed genuinely happy to help us out. It made us feel right at home, even though we were just passing through.

I was also impressed by how well they handled having kids around. As a parent, it's always a relief when a place is family-friendly, and Fowles Wine definitely ticks that box. The kids were comfortable, and so were we.

The whole place was spotless too - you could tell they really care about keeping everything clean and well-maintained. It's those little details that make a difference, you know?

I'll be honest, I'm kicking myself for not taking any photos. But in a way, that just shows how much we were enjoying ourselves - we were too busy savoring the moment to think about snapping pictures!

If you're ever driving through that area, do yourself a favor and stop at Fowles Wine. Whether you're after a good meal, a nice glass of wine, or just a pleasant break from the road, you won't be disappointed. We certainly weren't, and I can't wait for our next trip through so we can...

Such an amazing experience and must do! The food, the people, and especially the wine are absolutely lovely.

Hot Tip! Make extra time for wine tasting experience. If you sign up to their rewards system (free) it’s all free. The lovely and funny wine connoisseur, Gale, took us on a lovely journey of tasting a variety of the wines accompanied with lovely conversation. Needless to say after an hour and a half we were feeling pretty good. Ofcourse I can’t drive now so… we had lunch and more wine!

For lunch my partner and purchased the roast spatchcock and gnocchi special. For the price it beats anything I have had the pleasure of eating in Melbourne city. Contrary to popular opinion we really loved the Wild Bouquet Moscato and the Stone Dwellers NV Pinot Noir Sparkling. And if you have the chance to taste their “Exception” range you won’t regret it.

If wine doesn’t happen to be your thing or you’re bringing a friend who doesn’t like it, ask to taste “Are you Game Shiraz” I am sure they will come around to like it.

Overall exceeded my expectations and was lovely experience and very friendly and...

We had an outstanding wine tasting and dining experience at Fowles. It is easily accessed off the Hume Freeway and we were both impressed at first sight. It is quite an impressive complex. We had booked a tasting experience and lunch. It was a Monday and the winery was not very busy. We were fortunate to have the owner, Matt, take us through the wines. He was very flexible with the wines we could taste and told us about the history of the winery and the different approaches taken to the different wine ranges. It was one of the most interesting wine tastings we have done and we also enjoyed the wines! We tended to prefer the Stone Dweller range but also some of the Ladies who Shoot their Lunch wines. We then moved to the restaurant where the very friendly and competent staff provided great service. We chose the steak and lamb dishes for our mains - both were very tasty but the steak stood out as excellent. We finished off with a very rich chocolate pudding and excellent coffee. We departed with full stomachs and a box of excellent wines. And all good...

Dropped into Fowles this afternoon for lunch at their new restaurant. Situated an hours drive from Melbourne en route to Victoria’s High Country it is a convenient and gourmet way to break up the journey. Absolutely love the new fit out - it is huge, spacious, light and airy! The floor to ceiling glass windows are stunning giving you access to sweeping views of vineyards and the property. The menu too is smart, offering something for everyone. Its so awesome that the courtyard is dog friendly so we could bring the fur babies along. We enjoyed : 🍴Ploughman’s Board $30 Selection of farmhouse meats & terrine, bread & butter pickles, clothbound cheddar & crusty bread 🍴 Chicken Cotoletta $32 Panko crumbed chicken breast, fennel purée, cabbage, peas, mint & chilli 🍴 Risotto of spring greens & seared scallops 🍾 2021 Are you Game? Pinot Grigio $35 Highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t as well as their range of wines that are some if my favourite Victorian drops.
