We went to the Ocean Grove Hotel (or "OGH" as that's the sound you'll make when you think about it) for a "quick" lunch snack. The premises are quite old and outdated now and haven't been cleaned in a few decades. Broken splintery tables, bird poo and cob webs everywhere. You really can't look through their glass walls... It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday lunch (for a good reason), yet we had to wait about 55 minutes for our food (chips, pizza and a fried chicken, so nothing that needed to be prepared fresh). The excuse was that everyone ordered at the same time (really? Sunday, 12.30... couldn't see that coming...). Again: it wasn't busy at all! The pizza was quite tasteless, the fried chicken was soggy and had no crunch whatsoever but hey... The chips were alright. Surprised this venue still operates with this complete lack of love and care that must've clearly been going on for a long time. I usually don't say this about many places but: avoid...

We went here for dinner on Saturday night before Father's Day. Reasonably crowded, even though we booked for 6pm. Just as well. The place for really crowded, but the service is great, friendly and very accommodating. They didn't have my preferred beer, so gave me a schooner for the price of a pot. One great thing is that they serve half portions, so you don't fill up too much before dessert. Pretty standard pub grub, but well done. A good range of kids' meals as well. Desserts are fantastic! We had the sticky date pudding and creme brulee. The toffee sauce was divine. The kids' desserts are $4 a pop and very creative - frog in the pond or grubs in the mud, which my son ordered. Very rich. The outdoor play area is awesome: two trampolines, a climbing structure/play equipment, air hockey table and some claw machines. Great service and a family-friendly vibe. If you're in OG, drop on in. Bookings...

Service was appalling, at best. We reserved a table for six for 7:00pm (ordered mains at 7:15), and it was 8:20 when we got our food, after many question and hints to the staff. We were never told that there would long wait, as you would expect when it will be awhile. To make this worse, one smaller table, who arrived later, managed to order eat and leave by 8:05. We also noticed that the kitchen was understaffed (3 cooks) compared to the 8 or so waiters/waitresses. We were also disappointing that they said they were very busy but only 1 in 4 tables filled and tables who ordered later got their food earlier. It was clear that they didn’t put in or forgot the order and the fact that they lied is saddening. The food was good to mediocre, and I would also like to advise consumers that the basket of chips is...

Ross Wilson is a favourite and OGH is a great venue for live music. This was the last outdoor gig for the season which normally starts up again late spring. Even though it was a cold night the crowd were warm and friendly. The average age would have been a bit younger than Ross which isn’t hard as he is 73 but sounded amazing. All the favourites were belted out to a very vocal crowd. The staff were friendly and attentive and Liam the man that seemed to be running things had the place bopping. The back bar opened as the music started which was convenient and I never had to wait long for a drink. We had a favourite to eat the pulled pork pizza is delicious. The Ocean Grove Hotel or the collendina or Dina is looking a bit tired but is always warm and friendly and the pub food is always tasty.
