Rolling into Bendemeer in the middle of winter might sound like madness when the mercury’s below zero—but once again, the welcome at the Bendemeer Hotel made every freezing kilometre worth it.

This was our fourth annual ride here, and as always, Leanne and the team went above and beyond. The atmosphere inside the pub was warm in every sense—literal and figurative. The food was phenomenal, the beers cold, and the banter around the fire even better. Rooms were clean, cosy, and—bless them—equipped with heated blankets. That’s hospitality.

Breakfast the next morning was spot on, and having a secure shed to store the bikes overnight gave everyone peace of mind.

We’ll be back next year, and the year after that. The entire Bendemeer community has always made us feel welcome, and this year was no exception.

If you’re riding up this way, do yourself a favour: take the scenic route via Thunderbolts Way (when it’s open) and grab a copy of Too Young To Hold A Gun by Peter Spencer, sold at the bar—it’s a brilliant read on the bushranger Captain Thunderbolt and his apprentice William Monckton.

This place is a true gem. 11/10 for being a proper bike-friendly pub. Highly...

This place deserves a Galaxy full of stars. I spent two nights here, and it has been the best pub stay yet! The staff here go above and beyond to make you welcome. They are so helpful. My room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable.

Dining at the Bendy is absolutely fantastic, and is definitely up there with any top end establishment. Their food is cooked to perfection, and tastes so nice.

If you're travelling on a bike, your trusty steed is in safe hands, and is locked up in the stable each night. If you need information in regards to the surrounding areas the staff are a wealth of knowledge as well. One place of interest is the Moonbi Lookout located about 13km south of the Hotel.

Overall the Bendemeer Hotel is a fantastic place to stay at and I will definitely be back again. Only this time it will be for a longer stay so I can take in the surrounding areas. Thanks for the great hospitality, and keep up the great work...

Whilst traveling to Armidale, I unfortunately hit a kangaroo near Bendemeer which destroyed the front end of my vehicle. As a result, my company booked accommodation at the Bendemeer Hotel until an alternative vehicle and repairs could be arranged the next day. Whilst waiting for the towing service to collect my car from the side of the highway, the staff at the hotel contacted me via mobile phone to ask if I was ok, and ask if I would like them to prepare a meal for me for when I arrive. After such an ordeal, it was truly heartfelt the generosity, empathy and customer service provided by the staff. The meal was delicious, the room - clean, nicely appointed, cosy (as it is currently winter), bed - nice and comfortable and the room rate - very affordable. Thank you to all the friendly staff at the Bendemeer Hotel and numerous phone calls to my beautiful wife and daughter for helping to make my unfortunate ordeal significantly...
