I know there was this pandemic going on.. Normally I can come in for something to eat, but get told everything is served in a bag and I can't have a salad like I usually do.. Almost no vegetarian anything at the counter, and no sit down meal... Hopefully when this covid epidemic is over we can all enjoy what we used to have..
Edited: (15/10/23) The pandemic has ended, and things still haven't changed.. The food is still served in a paper bag on a cardboard plate with wooden cutlery. I bought two meals - two quiches and two salads. They tasted ok but were served on cardboard plates, and the salads were in plastic tubs.. No serviette to be seen - utter rubbish.. And for $27 I should have brought along my own plates and metal cutlery...
What's happened to this place?? It used to be a good place to pop in for lunch, but not anymore.. Next time, I'll head on through to Toodyay, or not head north at all.
Normally I'd give a five star raving review because I loved your shop.. But today it sucked.. I walked out and bought some fruit from next door then bought another meal at the Scottish pub up the road.. It was served on a real plate with real cutlery..
For anyone reading my review: Do yourself a favour - go elsewhere or just buy it as takeaway.. A sit in meal...
Read moreI love this bakery so much, itâs hard to know where to start. So, I am going to write multiple reviews. This one is for their bread, because that really deserves a special mention. Itâs by far the best loaf anywhere between Bindoon and Perth, and even in Perth thereâs only one bakery thatâs of the same high quality â and thatâs Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie.
On average, we buy 8-10 loaves every week. Our staple is the Light Rye Walnut and Seed loaf. Itâs absolutely delicious fresh or toasted, and freezes really well.
But their Sourdough loaf is something else again ⊠itâs the perfect blend of taste, chewy texture and crisp crust. They make a few varieties including plain sourdough, smoked sourdough, 7 Seed loaf, Olive and Herb, Jalapeno & Cheddar, Rosemary Garlic Sundried Tomato & Basil, plus a Rustic Boule loaf. And if you love fruit bread, their Lavender & Fruit Sourdough loaf is to die-for.
I love good bread, and have tried many different bakeries - for me, the Bindoon Bakehaus bread is by far the best...
Read moreIf you are in Bindoon itâs worth calling in, but sure to get there early or else what you want might be sold out đ Customer service is good, especially the lady with the short hair who came across as very friendly. The beef pie was a little flavourless, but there were lots of other interesting flavours listed up on the board. My husbandâs jalapeño and steak pie wasnât as spicy as expected but still good. Iâll have to get earlier than 2pm next time so that I can try the other flavours. So itâs my fault I missed out on what I was wanting đ I had the traditional apple turnover, it was ok, but the vanilla slice was the delicious standout from our visit. Husband also said the chocolate thickshake was nice and thick. The set up for dining inside is appealing, the cushioned seats in the corner looked the most relaxing, and there are plenty of tables and chairs outside too. The womenâs bathroom needs a bit of a reno because the toilet seats are stained and worn. I guess they see a lot...
