Amazing museum, an incredible collection of artifacts from cars and motorcycles to books and record players. I absolutely loved looking round and could probably have happily spent days looking at all the awesome things. I was a bit sad to see that everything was so dusty and not particularly well laid out, but it's a lot of history to try and preserve well so understandable. I also liked how quiet it was to walk around because I really got to take my time and think about everything I saw. The cafe was nice, it was very understaffed but the staff were lovely despite this, and even let me order food after the kitchen had just closed which I feel awful about but am also very grateful for. I had a chai latte before going into the museum which was honestly the best chai I've ever had (so worth the wait!) it was SO good. The food was delicious, I ordered the frittata, and my partner and I both loved it. I came here with my 8 month old who had a great time too and I really appreciated how accessible everything was for my pram and how patient the staff were with my baby being so loud lol. If I could give it more than 5...
Read moreThis review is for the Cafe only. The food was OK. I would not hurry back here though. My partner and I ordered a ramen bowl and a beef brisket sandwich. Similar prices but the ramen was tiny compared to the sandwich. This meant I was still kind of hungry after eating while my partner was ready for a nap.
The food was delivered about 5 minutes apart. So my soup was coldish by the time we could eat together. Why do so many WA establishments do this? You won't do separate billing but you can't serve meals at the same time? Anyway, the brisket sandwich was thoroughly enjoyed by partner but my soup was bland and very small compared to most other ramen bowls I've had.
The service was average. The staff didn't seem to care they had customers. They were not unpleasant, but they felt indifferent.
In summary, another place with great potential, but not enough competition to actually...
Read moreNice location, friendly staff, good food but slightly overpriced. The dishes on offer were excellent but werenât executed well. The banana bread dish was delicious but the kitchen ran out of pana cotta which needed to be substituted with yoghurt. The panko eggs had a perfectly cooked crumbed shell but were flavourless and the centre was hard boiled. The eggs were placed on two small slices of toast dressed with oil and some crispy bacon that saved the dish. I could barely taste the teaspoon of dressing which was unfortunate as the dish could suit some seasoning and maybe a little asian salad considering the price. The coffee was nice but not as good as others in the area. 4 stars for the banana bread, location and...
