Went with a bus tour (pre booked) for Christmas lunch. Kept us waiting half an hour before accepting orders, turkey Christmas lunch we were promised strangely ran out after the first dozen orders. we were left with seafood, offal or chicken schnitzel.the first table got turkey and their orders. we were left waiting nearly 3/4 hour after the first half were served to get our miserable sized portions of food. I got a dried out piece of chicken masquerading as schnitzel, the size of my palm, a quarter the size of a usual seniors schnitzel. I can only assume they ran out of chicken as well as schnitzel and cut the schnitzels into thirds. Also half the amount of chips others had., the leftover rubbish pieces.when I asked for veg instead of salad when ordering, the waitress refused. so after waiting an hour and 15 minutes I got this dried out rubbish, no gravy, no water left on the table, I was both hungry and choking on this dried out rubbish, and the scratch nasty salad. Luckily a fellow diner spotted an outdoor tap and refilled the wine bottle they had served us water in. The appropriate name for this restaurant is Scrooge's. Warning to all groups don't book. They would not allow us to preorder our meals "we don't do that". also is their lack of food a sign they are going broke? I wouldn't be giving them a deposit for a wedding in case they go bust and your money is gone...imagine the fun we all had trying to be cheerful watching the other ladies tucking into lovely turkey with condiments, tasteful string of grilled tiny toms on the vine and veg was bad enough, and then our meals came half the size of the turkey, nasty bitter leaf salad instead of veg, dried out schnitzel, or cold as one of the ladies eating the sea food remarked.. Most on the second table left hungry. the pavlova dessert was so small it wasn't worth dirtying the plate, and I could not taste any pavlova in it, forced to eat it with a fork. Obviously they ran out of Pavlova as well as turkey and chicken...One of the ladies had seniors chicken schnitzel there last week and said it was three times the size of mine. the sticky date pudding was the kind you buy in the supermarket, it had a few berry fruits and some cream beside it. After we came home my husband took me to the Modbury Hotel and for 26 dollars I got a massive tender pan fried ( not cooked in a chip fryer like the lunch item) schnitzel, all you can eat salad bar and veg bar, had so much to eat took 2/3 of the schnitzel home for the next day, and Scrooge's Bridgewater in was an ugly memory only.... don't go there! wasted 28 bucks and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided on having Christmas eve dinner here and unfortunately it wasn't the experience we were hoping for
For starters we ordered the $7 garlic bread which turned out to be a $2 store bought loaf from the freezer section. We wouldn't have ordered it knowing this
When we had ordered our the first time food we did so at the bar but when we wanted to order more I was told by one staff member I had to walk to the other side to order the food which was just behind her but I didn't really care I just want to order but once I got to the other side she told me the kitchen was closing soon and that my order couldn't be made up until another member of staff heard and stated that it wasn't closing for another 2 hours and that we would be OK to order more food.
Then about half way Into dinner a very loud alarm went of which perked us all up from the table. We turned to the bar to see what the staff members wanted us to do incase it was a fire alarm or some emergency evacuation. But all we got was one staff member yelling out "we are all going to die!" Which put all of us all on edge. The alarm turned off a couple seconds later and with that we didn't hear anything else from that. It would have been nice have a staff member come over to let us know nothing was wrong.
Over all pretty disappointed with the experience as it was highly recommended to us. The place is absolutely stunning but if you want a dining experience...
Read moreI have just celebrated a milestone birthday here and was not disappointed! Highly recommend The Bridgewater Inn.
From the moment I enquired with them Kendall was amazing right through until we left after our event. Polite, answered all questions promptly via email (including on her days off) and gave informative answers having our best interest first giving suggestions that would benefit us the most.
The venue did not disappoint our guests with many commenting on what a beautiful spot it is even with the weather not what we were hoping for. We were set up creek side with fans and heaters available no matter what the weather was with live music loud enough to hear from here.
The food was delicious and nothing went to waste which is always a compliment! Great variety on the small goods and cheese platter, all was fresh and well put together.
The staff were all amazing! Each and every single staff member were friendly and provided the service with a smile and personality ensuring we had everything we needed and very willing to be accomodating if we were needing more.
Kendall is amazing at her job and we can definitely see why she does the roll she does. A big thank you Kendall and the team at Bridge Water Inn. We cannot speak or recommend you guys...
