Booked 4 days ahead to reserve a table for 13, it's a busy Sunday lunch, it's packed, but there isn't a table reserved, for the time requested, walk up to the counter Sorry we don't reserve tables?? Which isn't what I was told when booking a few days earlier We find a table eventually We order and find out its 45~ minute waits as they are understaffed, Totally fine with that completely understand, Time passed people who ordered after us is getting their meals, sure don't mind it, we're a big table
Looking though the kitchen, they're working hard, sending out dockets, plating food BUT They're eating off plates, and eating with their fingers in the middle of plating food, and they don't even wash their hands???? I know you're busy but being busy isn't an excuse for an absolute terrible practice of hygiene, even in a pub!? The food came out eventually, once again I don't mind the wait, Have some wrong dishes, but can't be bothered to ask, considering the wait times Food wasnt anything special, mediocre for seafood
Overall I'd give it, 1/5 if they knew how to handle hygiene better, absolutely horrified with...
Read moreVery lovely setting! We were so excited to come to this place and were already thinking about coming back with other friends, but the French waitress at the counter on saturday 01/04/2023 at 2:30pm really ruined it with her rudeness. She was terribly arrogant and unpolite and made fun of us for asking if we could get chips with their prawns main which was somehow the only main on the menu that wouldn’t come with chips. When I asked if I could get a side of chips she said that they didn’t do sides of chips anymore and that I could only get chips with hamburgers or fish. Then when I asked the other staff at the counter he said that they could actually do the prawns with chips. That staff member was very lovely and polite by the way, and so was the other French guy in the kitchen. We were then told by her friend that we shouldn’t have asked that because now she was upset.. guys you work in hospitality in the adult world now. If you serve customers, serve them well and with respect. And if they respectfully complain deal with it and get over it without being rude...
Read moreKooringal is a sleepy, isolated holiday home village on the southern tip of Morton Island. A playground for the well off bush lover who can afford to build a 2nd house in the middle of nowhere and dedicated fishermen. Population: small. The Gutter Bar serves as its bar, restaurant, and general store. Ambiance is shabby coastal in keeping with the rest of the place. Footwear strictly optional. It doesn't excel at any of its roles but given the isolation of the place (supplies are brought in by the owner's boat from Stradbroke Island) the prices aren't outrageous and the food is tasty enough. Beware it's only open 9:30 .. 4:30 on week days and only slightly longer...
