One of the highlights of our 2 night stay on Bruny Island. When we got to the bread fridge, it was empty and the sign indicated the next delivery was at 11.30am. We decided to wait given it was just after 11am and we were glad we did! By 11.15am, baker John arrived with a car load of beautiful loaves of sourdough bread and we bought both the plain and sultana sourdough. We asked John if he had any of his Anzac biscuits in his delivery and he said he was going to make it the next day (Thursday) after he finished making the day’s bread which would be delivered to the fridge on Friday mid morning. But after learning that we were leaving Bruny Island first thing Friday, he kindly agreed to make a special delivery to the fridge on Thursday at 5pm for us. The bread was delicious as expected but it was meeting John that made the experience even better. John was very kind, engaging and you could tell it was a labour of love for John. John’s Anzac biscuits also had a special twist and went well with a cup of tea for dessert. The two times we were there, we saw many cars dropping by to pick up some of John’s bread but unfortunately they were sold out. We hope that many visitors will continue to visit the Bruny Baker Bread Fridge and respect the honest system - such a great concept by an awesome human. Thanks John! (aka the...

Bruny Baker Bread Fridge is a cool place to get yummy bread and biscuits. There are just two fridges under the trees, filled with tasty treats. You do everything yourself – pick what you want, pay on your own, and enjoy!

What's great is that it's easy-going – no fancy rules. The simple, self-serve style makes it feel friendly and relaxed.

Besides the yummy food, the spot is also famous for its cute look. The fridges under the trees make a nice backdrop for pictures. It's a simple, laid-back place that's not just tasty but also great for capturing fun memories. If you're into affordable and tasty snacks in a charming setting, Bruny Baker Bread Fridge is...

Highly recommend a loaf. We arrived on the island late afternoon and only sourdough was left but there is a sign with notice advising when the next delivery of bread was going to be for the next day.

Went the next day at the advised delivery time while the bread was being loaded and was greeted by the baker. Very friendly to chat with while he was offloading.

Sultan bread has a nice crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the sultans had a sharp taste to them and not too sweet. This one was still hot on the inside.

Olive oil and rosemary was heavy but similar to the Sultan bread, crispy outside and soft inside.

Overall, great...
