Unfortunately the service was dreadful (I accept that it was very busy, but that doesn't excuse it). We only had 1.5hrs for our booking (which the staff were keen to point out), however, everything took a long time to be delivered. I ordered a round of drinks from the table QR code and had to ask the staff where they were, nearly 30mins later. Some of our meals were very late and the last pizza was under cooked. Every time we asked the staff for something we got an eye roll or sigh.

The food was ok. I had the slow cooked lamb shoulder which was actually really nice. But the BBQ ribs were very dry and the chicken salad was bland. The garlic bread was middling. The curry beef was very tough but the sauce was good.

The drinks list was ok, but there was an absolutely foul hazy pale (normally my goto area for beers) that my mate had to return - it was that bad.

In the end the experience was somewhat saved by the absolutely delicious brownies (oozing rich chocolate goodness) and the fact that they gave us a free pizza as a way of apologising for the cluster that our experience had become.

This could be a great place under the right circumstances, and maybe we just had 'one of those nights', but it was ultimately a...

We visited this establishment for a meal recently, recommended by our air B&B host. Both my husband and I ordered a Scotch Fillet being one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Much to our dismay the steaks although cooked medium rare, as ordered, were very sinewy and tough as old boots. No amount of chewing was enough to break the meat down enough to swallow. The waiter was advised of this when he originally checked on our meals, but chose to do nothing to rectify the problem and ignored us for the entire night. The service there after was non existent appearing to be paying more attention to the locals at the next table. In order to attract attention I began placing the chewed meat on the side of the plate in the hope I could get someone's attention, and surprisingly enough no-one noticed.

In hindsight we should have complained at the counter where we had paid at time off ordering, however as a tourist generally you are tired and all you want to do at the end of the day is to have a good meal and go home to bed.

Something to consider when next you go in there. We were not impressed with their meal and lack of...

Loved our 4 night stay at Hotel Bruny Lodge with our back deck providing views across the water. We brought our own groceries as we knew the closest general store was at Adventure Bay. |We also had delicious dinners at Hotel Bruny very close by.|Very clean and comfortable bed and clean bathroom.| However while the kitchen provided utensils for cooking, there were only two bowls and two entree plates (one of which was cracked across and not safe to use). Also the coffee sachets were shrunken and 6 months past the BBF date. The microwave was filthy (my fingers sank into a previous guests fatty bolognaise sauce which flooded the turntable). I cleaned the entire microwave which should have been cleaned before our arrival! While the appearance of the room was aesthetically pleasing, there was no practical provision for dining. Hence the 4 star rating otherwise it would have been 5. But despite that, it really is a lovely...

Called in for lunch on a Tuesday as we tiki toured around the island. It was packed when we got there but we found a seat at the bar and was able to order drinks and food. The beer was cold and the food was hot. We had seafood chowder and ribs. Both hearty servings - no dinner was required that night! They had the fire going and despite being really busy the staff were warm and friendly. They turned the tables over pretty fast and didn't seem to miss a beat as waves of people poured in by the car loads. It's a proper country pub with big hearty pub grub that fills every hidden crevasse of your gut. It was well presented and tasted great. Not cheap but not disappointing for the price. Well worth stopping for lunch if you're there for the day. Might pay to book a table if you're on a tight time frame.

Great food, inattentive service. We arrived at 12pm to a very busy crowd during the Xmas period - bookings are essential! However, we found that the online ordering prominently signed on every table was disappointing: we waited for 30 minutes to ask for our food. Shortly after, the oysters came out but nothing else. This was such a shame as we had ordered a lot of food expecting to finish it in the 90 minutes given, yet we saw families leaving when we had only had the oysters. Our allocated table was also missing water glasses and enough cutlery for thr three of us. We resorted to pilfering these items from the neighbouring tables. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere and food were both excellent. A disappointing lack of attention from staff marred our experience however.

I’d give this 4.5 stars. Room was beautiful views and quiet, bed was comfortable. A few key notes: there are no breakfast options - not in the room, and restaurant opens at noon. We made due with a few larder items the first morning but that needs to be MUCH clearer disclosure or they should offer a simple breakfast in the fridge as other hotels did (yogurt, fruit in the refrigerator would be plenty and we’d pay for it). Also, the room really needs a wet bar sink for dishes and drinks. Note also we needed to boil the water, but there’s a kettle in the room which was fine if you plan ahead. Wallabies and birds playing right in front of the room, and a beautiful view means we’d stay again. The restaurant and pub were lots of fun and the food was tasty and reasonable prices.
