On arriving an hour after it opened and with a booking, we found the door with the Closed sign prominently displayed. We sat in the car for a few minutes, then another customer appeared and pushed the door open, so we decided to go in. The food came out very quickly, and the special fried rice was excellent, although the portion wasn’t as large as we’d expected when we ordered the large. The duck in plum sauce and beef with vegetables weren’t as hot as we’d expected but the flavour was okay. I do get the feeling that this is a place that does certain dishes really well, but others are quite average. They didn’t have any banana fritters available for dessert. We ordered rainbow beef for $21. No sauce overcooked to burnt bits of batter clumped together. It was totally inedible. The special fried rice was $12. It just rice, two frozen prawns, frozen homebrand vegetables, a couple of overcooked diced bacon. It tasted a bit off. The Mongolian lamb was ok. Boneless lemon chicken was ok but wouldn’t recommend. Had Combination Rice Noodle dish that had no flavour, just based in noodle water. I added some soy but still very bland. At least the vegies were fresh, beans & Broccoli but frozen carrots. Not enjoyable. Other dish was Sweet & Sour Pork, very artificial taste & flavour, very few vegies and no rice or noodle served with it. Not good. Really need to taste their food...
