Kellys (By the Sea) — Restaurant in Burnett Heads

0 star if I can. Worst service ever. We ordered 3 cakes, 2 juices, 1 frappe and a coffee. The cakes came out in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later the waitress said they ran out of beetroot so I said they can put spinach instead to make watermelon, mango and spinach juice. Then we waited another 20 minutes and still no sign of our drinks. When we asked they said the coffee is ready, I can take it with me to the table. Another 10 minutes the juices and frappe finally came. 40 minutes for juices and frappe. But there’s clearly no spinach in the juice but the waiter insisted he put spinach in it. (Drink on the left) It only tasted like watermelon, not even much mango taste and you can tell there’s no spinach as the colour shows only watermelon and slight mango. Kellys has a great reputation for breakfast and lunch and their cakes are really good and we did used to eat there regularly but something has changed. Today we arrived at 12 midday and ordered our usual yummy omlette and equally good beef burger. We were the last to get lunch. Anyone else who arrived and that was more than 10 would be luncherd were told the kitchen was closed. By 12-40 pm when we left even the cabinet with cakes was closed. We were surrounded by clesn up even though many people were arriving for lunch. The staff said they had to stop serving so early because they had to clean up to close by 2pm. Three elderly ladies with two on walking frames said this had never happenned before there. Their website says they are open until 3pm. Their blackboard says 2pm. Coffee. Cake. Juice. Our visit to Kelly's Cafe at Burnett Hds, this morning ticked alllll the boxes, from the BEST Biscoff Cheesecake ever, enjoyed with a 7 Miles Roasters Tazzina coffee, and a fresh Cucmber, Pineapple and Ginger juice to go, everything was spot on! The excellent selection of different cakes and cheesecakes and slices made choosing just one so hard! And the eclectic, boho decor lends a casual relaxed feel to the Cafe, that just works with the beachy surrounds. Was an absolutely perfect visit here for us this morning....
