12 August 2018 Food was very good. Range of food, counter meals and snacks was excellent for a country hotel. However, the manager behind the best was arrogant, unhelpful and had no patience or personality. No way to treat travelers who want to help the community they visit. When talking to others, they concur with this analysis.

Enjoyed dinner of pork chops and grilled barramundi. Large meals. Friendly service. Good pub feed.

Delicious food. Steak was cooked perfectly and the pepper sauce was very tasty.

Hotel atmosphere was good, locals not interested in anyone but themselves and that’s ok, we chatted with workers that were not locals. Meal was ok. Accomodation is pitiful, dirty….if you stay just don’t have any expectation. Donga had mould on the ceiling, but was mostly covered by cobwebs-don’t look. I swear the sheets had not been changed since the last occupant. Ladies showers - one shower head was hardly a spray, hard to wash off soap and the other shower’s head was perfect, if you don’t mind no hot water or a light. Men’s showers I was told were good, though could do with a good clean like the ladies. All in all we put it down as an experience and have a had a good laugh. Never will we stay there again nor recommend it to anyone. Hotel area - 3 star - Accomodation is not worthy of...

It’s been 9 years since out last stay and the accommodation has gone from okay to don’t bother, just keep on driving. There were more people camped out at the ā€œHot Springsā€ than staying in one of the donga’s. Once we’d checked in, we noticed that there was no soap in the rooms, nor in the shared shower/toilet block, we asked if we could have some soap, and we were told they don’t supply soap? This is a first, we’re a motorbike riding group and we’ve stayed in all sorts of accommodation over the years and have never heard of something so ridiculous. The food at the Pub was good and the staff were helpful, the locals were great company and had some stories to tell, but unless there is investment into the accommodation, we will...

Steak sandwich had no salad so it was literally a steak sandwich ~ steak and bread. Didn’t feel welcome at all and should have kept going. As I had a miniature pooch I had a choice of a dirty metal table in the sun next to a guy mowing or a seat at a table next to a grinding outdoor fridge. Oh and was told ā€˜if I had a dog, I would leave it at home’. Well, that’s how we have evolved over the last 100’s of years. Our dog is our traveling companion so we only choose places that create amenity for dog owners and are genuinely welcoming. QLD does this much better...
