Burrum Tavern — Restaurant in Burrum Heads

We had dinner here last Friday night whilst on holiday. We were greeted by a surly cashier, actually no we weren't greeted, she wasn't friendly at all. Then we waited....and waited for our meals, I have never waited so long for a meal ever. It took so long, close to an hour and a half for 4 meals. By the time they came we were a little over it and ready to go home and most people had actually left the restaurant. We actually wondered if our docket had been forgotten at one stage as people who came in after us were getting meals before us. 4 simple pub meals, nothing too complicated. Not impressed all. To top off the night my daughter was violently ill, she had the chicken Korma, make of that what you will. We did notice the board advertising that dish was taken down after her order. Wouldn't recommend the Korma, it was tasteless, and we weren't even sure what was in it, cabbage? Wouldn't recommend the Tavern for dinner. The only god part of this was us having a laugh at how Gordon Ramsay would of reviewed this restaurant, not favourably and using some very colourful language. It did explain an event we had seen earlier in the week though when we stopped in for a cool drink whilst on a bike ride. We watched in confusion as a couple had there meals put in front of them, literally took a mouthful and left in there car. They had probably waited so long they didn't have time to eat! My suggestion try the club...

First time visiting and will definitely be the last. Came with 2 friends and 2 young dogs. The older one can be anxious but certainly not aggressive.He did bark at someone An extremely rude waitress told us not to bring an aggressive dog. The way it was handled was extremely unprofessional. A young man who we assume was the duty manager came over after we called him and handled the situation respectfully. He spoke to the waitress who came over and sarcastically thanked us for getting her into trouble!! When I told the rude waitress that we were leaving tomorrow and going back to Brisbane, her response was”good”. It only takes one bad apple to ruin a reputation. The bar staff were very polite. Service was OUTSTANDING! My family and I visited the tavern a few weeks ago for dinner with our baby. The food was great and very well priced, but the service was what amazed us. We had finished eating and had to change our baby so we done so and left the nappy on the edge of the table so we could take it with us when we left. As the waitstaff come to collect the plates the man offered to take it for us. We thanked him but declined as it was heavily soiled and we wouldn’t expect anyone to take that off of our hands. We were then surprised when the man come back with a rubbish bag to put the nappy in and he took it away for us and disposed of it. I have not had that sort of commitment and service from anyone, anywhere while dining out. Thank you...
