Read moreFirst time to dine here and I'm only giving it 2 stars because of the appalling way we were treated by Linda the restaurant manager. I had a booking for dinner made in advance. We were running 15 minutes late. At the reception, we were told to go to table 7 but the receptionist staff looked confused and just said go inside, they'll sort it out. Inside the restaurant, table 7 was occupied with people eating and drinking already. When we enquired about our booking, we were told there was a mix up with our booking and Linda said she can only offer us a table outside and said she'll give us as many heaters as we want. We were 3 adults with 2 young kids and this time of the year, if we had wanted an outdoor seating, we wouldn't have bothered making a booking in the restaurant. Anyway, we were still listening to her talking and trying to process what she just said when another staff member came to our rescue and said to her there's a table in the sports bar that we can go to. That's when she gave us a superficial smile and said my apologies about that, i'll get you any jug of soft drink on the house as an apology, just come and ask for me. The food was nice though it took over 30 minutes to just get starters. We had buffalo chicken wings, wedges and garlic bread for starters. For the mains, we had kids meals burgers and chips, lamb shanks, ribs and chicken wings combo. The way i had been looking forward to trying this local place now has me considering cancelling...
Read moreEverything here was fantastic. The food comes in large portions but staff are happy to pack it into boxes for you take it away. The food is excellent value for money and represents great value for money. The mashed potato is clearly homemade, the vegetables are fresh, the chunky chips are tasty and the fish is battered onsite - a nice change from some other places, where the fish is clearly bought in.
The menu is just the right size that it can remain homemade but also offer a variety of choices for everyone. The cocktail menu is sufficiently sized and the wine menu offers wine for every palate. Tea and coffee are also offered.
There is no pressure to rush or leave, the staff are attentive and Kendall was an excellent host, mingling well with guests and making everyone feel welcomed.
Unlike some places, the BDCC also offers smokers an area to sit that overlooks the grounds and the bowling green. The lights in the garden offer an optical illusion - there is no covering over the garden but at night, the lights make you think you’re undercover.
Live music is available on Friday and Saturday nights and there’s a bar to relax and enjoy a drink without having to eat.
Overall, the value for money, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and well-cooked food makes the BDCC one of the best places in Perth to eat. Membership is affordable, so there’s no reason not...
