Leichhardt Hotel — Restaurant in Cloncurry

The publican is rude and the staff are useless. 35minute wait in the line to just place an order. I wouldn’t recommend. Find another pub to eat at.

Additional comments post review reply from the owner…… So, nice work blaming your customers not booking for making you so busy. Bud, your a pub in Cloncurry not a fine dining restaurant in the big smoke. Perhaps a customer facing role isn’t for you…

There were two lines where people were ordering food, you were at one, a French lady was at the other. You took food orders from two of our people then said you would be right back to serve myself and the fourth from our crew.

You took some meals out to some customers then went and took over the serving the other food line. We waited for your return for between 10 and 15 minutes and nothing. When my colleague approached you threw your hands up… your customers waiting in your new line saw what was happening and verbally agreed with us…. They offered for the two of us to go in front of them….

Now, back to your mention of being so busy due to your food quality. My colleague and I went down to the central hotel, who were busier than you and doing a much better job managing it. I have added photos of our colleagues steak from your place and a photo of the steak (supposed to be same weight) from the Central. I’m glad we went down to the Central and happy to recommend others do the same.

Ps: the crumbed steak that the colleague got from you was rare...

This pub to me appeared to be the best in town with great friendly staff. It is fully air-conditioned and is bigger than expected and feels fresh, clean with friendly; staff and locals. Each area of the pub is separated from the other with the doors not being marked so try each door to find the area you are looking for. Unfortunately the motel was booked out so I can't comment but it appears that speaks for itself. It's Monday night with one pub in town closed as not enough patrons out on Mondays this pub has a reduced menu with a good selection of pizzas. Music is a bit load but I think this is a Qld thing getting ready for the next generation who have not learnt the use of their vocal cords and can only text each other. The local Chamber of Commerce needs to do something about getting all pubs and all places with accommodation identified within Google searches. Snone action and she'll be right is not good...

Stopped in for a cold beer and lunch, beer was good however food was terrible, hubby ordered the half rack of ribs which came with chips and slaw I ordered a cabonara with chicken. Hubby doesn't like coleslaw so asked to swap it for a salad instead, which I might add cost $3 which I was not told I thought it would be a swap other wise I would have kept the slaw. The rack was tasteless no flavour, no sauce very bland, the chips were dry and discoloured like the oil hasn't been changed for a while.. moving onto my chicken cabonara I had to add lots of salt and pepper again lack of flavour wrong pasta used for a pasta dish like this and very gluggy and stringy I left most of it on my plate and left hungry.
