I love travelling to little country towns. As I always find a hidden treasure. The Coolah Bakery did not disappoint. The place was immaculate and had a very homely feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered pies (choosing from the selection on offer was very hard) and they were scrumptious. The right amount of perfect pastry surrounding fresh, plentiful ingredients made with love. I judge a good pie by the ratio of filling to pastry and this was done expertly. The coffee we ordered was also to a very high standard. I highly recommend this little bakery. We all need to visit our little country towns and help keep them in business. Food: The sausage roll was standard. Both the Caramel and Flake Slice were lacking in textual pleasure and flavour, and the Lemon Tart was terrible. I could barely taste any lemon and the pastry base was dry and bland. The Lemon and Poppy Seed Cake tasted like "Play-Doh". Won't be going back.
Service: The two workers were reserved and while they were helpful, communication was fast and mumbled. Overall, service was average.
Appeal: An affordable range and many options for gluten free. A great position in a quaint country town.
