Friend told me it is yummy. So we drove 2 hours to get there as our family is a German family and I could not wait for kids to try some authentic German food. Food was good quality but portion is miserable: Schnitzel $38.50 Sausage plate $36.50 Pancake $24 10% surcharge Still very hungry after eating. To feel full you easily soend $200? We are two adults and 2 kids (9&4) service wise: When we arrived someone is leaving. But the owner said it is mother’s day weekend too and I don’t have a table for you. But someone was leaving! And then throughout our lu ch there were 2 empty tables. I felt she was not very welcoming. I did say we drive from Canberra and we got the table from the people leaving. (To be fair maybe it is just a cultural thing - no booking no table. No negotiation?) I did not know there is a Sat charge so I asked the lady how it came to such an amount (there is no receipt) she became quite offended saying ‘i did not charge you more’. But my husband later explained to me she is just very German. She does not like questioning. But I think it is ok to ask as I am always frugual esp I was still hungry.😳😂 The location is very in the middle of no where. It is a cute lodge but again is it worth going again or recommending to friends or family? I would personally say No. My husband (being a German) said food is high quality but ‘was the smallest portion’ I have every seen in a German restaurant.’ So if you are like is who looks at value this is quite not for you. But if there is no budget and you want some authentic German food - it is quite good. 👍

Aug 2025: STILL delicious! Heidi and the team are still serving up the same delicious recipes 🤤 do yourself a favor and stop in to try their signature Austrian pancakes! 2024: still delicious and the OG owners are still here. They've been in business for 30+ years and ready to retire (sadly for me). 9 min drive from Cooma, the kransky and Austrian sausages were great, and of course the highlight is still the Austrian pancake! Come support them before the delicious menu is gone forever 😢 2022: Stopped by for lunch on the way home from Thredbo (just over 1 hour drive away). The homemade soup with bread was delicious and the pancake was amazing. It tastes like a mix between crepe and pancake, and a bit crunchy on the outside. The berry compote was full of flavour and not totally mushy. Lovely quirky dining area as well with a nice fireplace. Will be back (hopefully they find new owners that can make the Austrian pancakes as well as they do)

Dropped in for lunch in a quiet weekday, didn’t expect much but end up very happy with both of our orders. Wonderfully rich food and friendly service. Truly indulgent pancakes a must try, unforgettable. Charming decor, very nice respite when is cold or raining outside. and a very comfortable clean well furnished toilets. Didn’t come here for the bathroom but it’s that nice. I came over during summer can easily picture this place to be a local favourite as well as for visitors to the region. Visit on a windy day so unable to seat outside. But on a fine day should be able to sit outside with a view. Out of curiosity we had checked out their back yard and take 10 min walk by the old path, looks like it was intended to entertain the visitor in the past?, strangely amusing worth a peek.

Oh my GOD! I came here from snowy mountains airport, because my flight was delayed by an hour and I was already an hour early to make sure I checked in properly.

What I thought was a quick visit with my mum and brother for pancakes, turned into an absolute explosion of heaven on my taste buds that I could call nothing short of a miracle!

I would be confident in backing this place as having the best god damn pancakes on EARTH! and if we ever inhabited the universe, the best in the universe would still be this place.

I got the strawberry and blueberry pancakes with a scoop ice ice cream ad cream, I wanted maple syrup too but she advised against it and was so right...

I do not normally leave reviews for places but I just had to for here. I can't find any more words.

If you come down here for a skii or snow board trip, you have GOT to stop here upon arrival and/or before departure

I think I'll be making this a religious routine stop whenever I come down here to see my mum.

Thank you so much Heidi!

The world would be much happier with more cooks as...
