Lotus Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Coonabarabran

Having first tried the Golden Sea Dragon Chinese Restaurant and walking out utterly disappointed with the food and service, and rudeness of the woman at reception, I was recommended by some locals to give Lotus Chinese Restaurant a go. From day dot, the quality of food, standard of customer service and prices matched that of Sydney (unlike some of the highly inflated prices you can get in some pubs and restaurants around the region). And ever since day dot, I've been a regular. Travelling through Coonabarabran for work and some of the other reviewer's photos from Lotus looked appetising so we decided to give it a shot! Got the sweet sour pork and Mongolian beef lunch specials and both were super great. Hot, tasty, with excellent fried rice. Decently priced, and a good sized serving. Booked the restaurant one month ago for 7pm, only to be told upon arrive, “no food on the table until 8.00”. Rubbish service and unbelievable rudeness from their uneducated staff. Probably dogged a bullet by not having to sample their dubious food. Please give this a miss unless totally, totally desperate or you like poor staff. We went to the Golden Sea Dragon who understand the meaning of good service. Worth a try...
