7 at Avondale — Restaurant in Cooranbong

Waiting over an hour for pizza on two separate occasions. The first instance was just under an hour 30. When we went to enquire at the pickup spot after the one hour mark, we were rudely told we could not be there. This staff member refused to even let us speak. It was 10mins after this that the manager approached us and told us our order had been lost. The rude staff member was there and had her head down, they the made the order. No form of compensation or even apology rendered.

The second occasion happened today and thankfully the staff member was kinder. The order was forgotten and only began being made once I approached them. At least an apology was given this time.

These circumstances are not acceptable and can not keep happening. The place's only saving grace is most of the staff are nice. Pricing is an issue as on Sunday they charge a surcharge, resulting in lunch costing nearly $21. How are university students meant to afford this?

I went to the cafeteria for takeout dinner and approached the counter, only to be met with a dismissive gesture from the woman working there. No words, just a clear signal telling me to leave. Apparently, dinner was “over.” Eventually, she came over and coldly stated, “Dinner is over. It finishes at 6:30,” while pointedly holding up her phone to show the time—exactly 6:30, not a minute past. I asked, “So I can’t get dinner?” Her answer: a blunt “No.” When I pressed further with a “Why?” only then did she finally decide to serve me. The food had not yet been packed up, it took less than a minute for me to fill my takeaway containers.

This level of service is absolutely shocking. Avondale goes out of its way to offer top-tier hospitality at its external functions but clearly can’t be bothered to show the same basic courtesy to its own students, the very people who fund this...

Shocking attitude. They would rather dump food (assuming they would not reheat and serve again - I could be wrong). We had a function with 120 guests, as with most functions, you always get a few last-minute cancellations, but we still paid for the full group. My wife was not feeling well; she had just had a little food but decided she would like some noodles for later. She went to the car for a nap. I went to get some noodles. One of the staff gave a takeaway box. When I finished putting some noodles in the takeaway box and put the lid on it, the head chef came out barking at me! Barking I cannot take it away. I simply gave back the box of noodles and walked away. My wife was disappointed. The food was paid for but she did not get to enjoy. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS...
