Beautiful spot - pretty location & an awesome building with indoor & outdoor seating. Have a seat on the expansive wooden decking or grab a shaded table on the grass. The gardens are well kept & there's a small dam in front which attracts plenty of birdlife. It's generally quieter than some other breweries in the area (which I prefer) but still with enough people to have a good atmosphere. There's a decent little playground for the kids plus plenty of open grass area for anyone to run amok (kids or adults). Dogs are allowed - with plenty of deck space or grass tables to choose from they'll never feel too cramped. The kitchen closes earlier than the bar, so food (other than packets of chips/nuts etc) may not be available if you arrive later in the day. They have a good selection of handcrafted beers to choose from, or grab a tasting paddle if you want to try them all. For those not into beer, they also have a decent selection of local wines on offer & a few other alcoholic options (inc. ciders & ginger beer). Staff are warm & friendly; more than happy to help. Parking is easy on the dirt/gravel behind the building amongst the trees. Toilets are clean &...
Read moreThis brewery is situated in a beautiful location, the scenery is outstanding. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The beer was OK, but beer is quite subjective to personal tastes. I had their IPA which was not to my liking and I usually like IPA's, the Irish red ale was quite nice. The food was the let down for this facility. A beef and porter pie that left you wondering what happened to the porter?, especially when it's brewed on location. A salad which was embarrassed by its total lack of the slightest hint of a dressing, hey, a little vinaigrette goes a long way. Chicken Parmigiana, well, this version was a first for me in its almost absence of Neapolitan sauce. At least the schnitzel was tender and moist. The young server could really do with some training in carrying meals to tables, plates held against the body is really not OK. Other than that, the atmosphere is very relaxing. For people with children there's a playground. The facilities are clean, although the skylights could do with a clean, they were a bit cobwebby. A family friendly venue which was also comfortable for the...
Read moreWell here goes Don't usually do reviews but in this case had to. Saturday 2nd June Booked for 1.30 but arrived at 1.40 due to traffic and we called on the way to say we would be 10 min late. That's ok and ordered drinks and food straight away. After a wait of 1 hour and 20 minutes asked why the wait. So five of us waiting !!!!! So first came a pizza that one of us ordered. 10 minutes later a junior fish and chips arrived. 5 to 10 minutes after that an adult size fish and chips arrived. 5 minutes later 1 serve of beef and porter pie arrived. A few minutes later second pie order came. Both pies, or more a beef stew with a pastry loose cover, we're stone cold. Not the wait staffs problem more of it seems a kitchen or chefs problem. The kitchen really needs to get their act together. No excuses. One young couple seated adjacent to us were waiting well over an hour for a serve of deep fried onion rings and a serve of fried calamari. Don't think they were impressed either. How long does that take in a fryer !!!!! All in all not impressed and certainly will...
