I visited the gardens with my family. We were planning on getting lunch at the cafe. We had our 5 month grandchild with us and our well behaved dog. Glorious weather not a cloud in the sky. We were told we could sit outside with our dog. No umbrellas were up and we chose a large table and proceeded to put up the umbrella to give us some shade. Once we had done that, one of the rudest staff members came out informed us to out it down due to wind. We apologised and did so, asked where we could sit to keep us shaded. She pointed to a small table next to the door that seated 2. I pointed out we had more than 2 people she then rolled her eyes and told us to bring more chairs over. They wouldn't all sit on the path where we were supposed to sit. We decided to get takeaway coffees and sit in the gardens. Went in to make our order again the attitude appeared telling us the kitchen had closed and we could only get coffee and cake. Ok.. however we waited for service although 3 members of staff were standing there talking, Ignoring us. We paid for our below average coffees and stale cakes. Customer service appalling!! Ironically they work in the most beautiful peaceful of surroundings. Check your customer service!! It's hows how you make happy customers !! Will not...

The Japanese Garden Café at the Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre is a delightful spot to relax and enjoy a quality coffee while soaking in the serene surroundings. Nestled within the beautifully landscaped gardens, the café offers a peaceful retreat where visitors can unwind after exploring the tranquil pathways, koi ponds, and traditional Japanese features.

During our visit, we enjoyed a well-made coffee that was smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. The café also serves a selection of light refreshments, including Japanese-inspired treats and classic café fare, making it an ideal place for a quiet break. The seating area provides stunning views of the gardens, allowing guests to sip their drinks while taking in the picturesque scenery.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant experience. Whether you’re looking for a place to rest after exploring the gardens or simply seeking a cozy spot for a great coffee, the Japanese Garden Café is a must-visit. It adds to the overall charm of the garden, making the experience even more memorable. We left feeling refreshed, both by the peaceful environment and the...

The only accessible place to eat and refill after exploring the peaceful Japanese Gardens, the cafe is modest in presentation similar to its Japanese location. Dropping in for lunch, the menu is very limited and its prices I would consider to be too high for what you're given. We ordered lamb souvlaki and mushroom and chicken crepe as those dishes differed from what you would get at a pub for much cheaper. Service was prompt and we received food in a reasonable duration, the lamb souvlaki was packed with lamb with each bite being tender and sumptuous. The crepe came out as a baked dish where pieces of chicken and mushroom submerged in cream are covered with a crepe and then baked. I enjoyed the crispy, golden exterior of the crepe that was topped with melted cheese and successfully kept the filling warm. But there was very little chicken compared to mushroom with the dense amount of cream resulting in a uniform taste. A comfortable, nutritious lunch can certainly be had here but if things are too pricy, perhaps opt for a slice of cake or coffee instead to enjoy in front of a...

The garden is beautiful but food are just average, when we walked in a staff told us they had a big group and asked us to walk around for half an hour first while the other staff allowed a couple to sit down without booking in advance :( very weird

The Japanese Gardens includes a cafe with an average menu. The Affogato coffees were very nice. Great view of the gardens from both the indoor & outdoor seating. #JapaneseGardenCafe #JapaneseGardenCafeCowra #JapaneseGardenCafeCowraNSW #Cowra
