The 5 of us rode 6 hours to do an overnight stay at the pub and couldn't have been more impressed. The owners and staff were fantastic and treated us like family, the drinks were cold and the food was great. There's lots to see around town and plenty in the pub as well. We arrived very much spent but after a drink and some mellow live guitar on the front veranda we had forgotten about the hours spent on the road. The price of everything was very reasonable if you understand the logistics of running a pub in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere. We do many trips to outback pubs each year so are more than qualified to judge as most of us have worked in them as well. So if your looking for a great time in a beautiful old pub that ticks all the boxes give Cracow a go. Many thanks to everyone at the pub for looking after us we...

While staying with friends at Biloela they took us for a drive around the area.||Typical small town with a big old hotel, what better place to get a cold one or two.||Old 19th century hotel with lots and lots of antiques on all the walls.||They even had a dog in one of the bars relaxing but I swear it was a small horse.||Great publican with a good sense of humour and very friendly. We ordered non alcoholic beer and he said sure but he'd have to knick the dust off the bottles first. Came with a complementary stubbie holder. We were driving so couldn't have a proper beer.||This town is mostly deserted after the Gold mining ran out and the hotel would be the meeting place for the town.||If you are passing through, go have a cold one or two and a yarn in an authentic Aussie...

We weren't expecting this to be one of the best trips we've ever taken!!! We weren't expecting to feel like we were leaving long held friends when we left after just a couple of days. The Burke family were not only the friendliest and most welcoming people we've encountered but Stuart and Nikki run an incredibly comfortable and accomodating establishment. With the assitance of their children Brophy and Chili, we enjoyed our time beyond imagination. Brophy is a walking, talking, history of the town and all it has ever been. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend taking a trip to Cracow to anyone who likes country towns; old hotels; the largest, most enjoyable meals we've ever had; and history that impacted the town and is part of the culture...

We found this place by sheer chance - scrolling through stuff online and reading "ghost town" and we were here! Up the road from the pub there was free (powered) camping, so we had food there before hitting up the pub. WOW! Everyone was soooo friendly, we were regaled with tales of the town, some history, some gossip, and everything in between. Owner/operator Fred Brophy was serving drinks, and it was only when one of the other guests (locals) told us about him and his history (Google it) that we realized we were in the presence of greatness. Honestly, one of the best nights of our trip away. Friendly, cheery, very outback-QLD vibe (only XXXX available to drink, lol) for anyone willing to lend an ear and have a good chinwag. Can't wait to go back.

Well we only stayed for a meal and drink on out way through and a quick walk in what is regared as a bit of a ghost town. But the pub has a long and unique history and serves nice food. Worth a walk around as the town has a rich history, particularly known for its gold mining past when the Golden Plateau Mine operated from 1931 to the mid-1970s, and there was a brief revival in gold prospecting in 2004. But back in the day as they say this was the place to be.

Since The Burkes bought Cracow Hotel and moved back into town, they have breathed new life and great atmosphere back into the old girl (the pub)! The rooms upstairs have had a good cleanup and revamp and look fabulous. Did I mention the amazing meals? Nik & Stu have done an incredible job keeping things going having purchased just before the pandemic locked everything down. Here for the long haul and we couldn’t want for better locally.
