My partner and I stopped in for morning tea at 940am, , we looked at the menu, then I lined up behind other patron's, I put our order in at 9.45am,banana bread, egg and bacon roll, pot of green tea, and a carton of iced coffee We decided to sit out on the balcony as it was such a lovely morning, at 10am my pot of tea came out, 5 minutes later, the banana bread arrived, I said to my partner I will wait till his food comes out as we wanted to eat together!at 10.10 am, my partner said to eat my banana bread as it had been toasted and not to let it go cold? My partner then went to see where his iced coffee was? While he waited for the egg and bacon roll, my partner came back with his iced coffee, apparently when I ordered it, I was meant to take it from the fridge, I wasn't aware of this? At 10.15am, my partners egg and bacon roll arrived, we can appreciate that good food takes time to prepare? My partner ate his egg and bacon roll, at this stage, we both still had our drinks to finish, we were approached by a staff member at 10.24am, saying they were sorry, but the table we were on had been booked for 10.30am, when we had sat down at the table , nothing had been said to us about another booking or us having to be gone by 1030am? We quickly finished our drinks, as the staff member had left a note stating table booked for 10.30am, My partner and I went for a walk, near the creek, came back past the table, at 10.45am, the note was still on the table, but there were no patron's sitting there? Disappointing we had to be moved along, despite having have waited 30 minutes for the egg and bacon roll, we are local to the area, if we had been advised on arrival table was booked we would have sat elsewhere, so we were could have just sat, as other patron's were and enjoyed...
Read moreThe Cudlee Creek Cafe. Amazing place to visit, the Staff are amazing, lovely, friendly and over accommodating with making sure your experience is one you want to come back for again and again and again.
The food is locally made and baked at the Cafe. The Breakfast and lunches menu has plenty of variety for even the fussiest of eaters. The Cakes, Cookies, Slices and Coffee will make your mouth water. Home made chips & the cafe's own Garlic Aioli will make you want to eat it with chips by the cup full. If you haven't been for a visit, get off your bums and enjoy a beautiful drive through the Adelaide Hills and have some amazing food and drink in the Country environment.
Just driving past this place you know it's popular by the amount of Motorbikes, Cycle riders & Cars. Sometimes its impossible to even get close to the Cafe.
But once you do go and have that experience, like me you will want to be a regular visitor and enjoy the the hospitality of a Local SA business in our own Adelaide Hills.
Great job and thank you to the owners and amazing staff at The Cudlee Cafe, I will see you soon. Kind regards and many thanks - Jodes...
Read moreThe Cudlee Café, nestled in the charming town of Cudlee Creek in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, was our chosen spot for breakfast on a serene Saturday morning. A mere 18-minute drive from my home brought us to its doors, eagerly anticipating a hearty morning meal.
I opted for the 'Cudlee Breakfast' with poached eggs, envisioning a plate brimming with perfectly cooked eggs and accompanying delights. However, the reality fell short of expectations. The eggs, rather than being delicately poached, appeared to have been cooked in small round containers, likely in a microwave, deviating from the traditional method. The bacon, which I typically enjoy crispy, was disappointingly overdone to the point of being charred, losing its savory appeal.
The café’s pricing, on the higher side, did not reflect the quality of the food served. The disparity between cost and culinary experience left much to be desired, suggesting that the Cudlee Café may need to revisit its approach to both cooking and pricing to provide a more satisfactory...
