Nestled on the enchanting Dent Island, just a stone's throw from Hamilton Island, the HIGC Clubhouse Resturant is a hidden treasure that seamlessly marries golfing excellence with culinary artistry. This destination is not just a golfer's paradise; it’s an iconic haven for food enthusiasts who crave an unforgettable dining experience.
From the moment you are whisked away from Hamilton Island Marina, the adventure begins. As you glide through the harbor, surrounded by a fleet of stunning yachts and the breathtaking panorama of the Whitsunday Islands, anticipation builds. The ferry ride is a prelude to the magic that awaits at the clubhouse.
Upon arrival, the views from the clubhouse are nothing short of spectacular. With the azure waters and lush greenery as your backdrop, it’s the ideal setting for a leisurely lunch. The ambiance is warm and inviting, enhanced by the sun-drenched skies that add to the charm of this tropical paradise.
Now, let’s talk about the pièce de résistance: the food. Crafted by the talented head chef, Antony More, the menu is a culinary journey that tantalizes the senses. Each dish is a masterpiece, but the standout stars include the indulgent tempura-battered Kilpatrick oysters that are simply naughty in the best way, the succulent Wagyu flank paired with perfectly roasted kipfler potatoes, and the crispy skin barramundi that melts in your mouth. Every bite is a celebration of flavor, leaving you utterly satisfied and yearning for more.
The service at Dent Island Clubhouse is equally exceptional. The staff is polished, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a memorable dining experience. A special shout-out to Richenda, whose impeccable service made our meal truly flawless.
Overall, the Dent Island Clubhouse offers a harmonious blend of breathtaking beauty, exquisite taste, and unparalleled relaxation. Whether you’re a golf aficionado or a foodie in search of your next great meal, this destination is an absolute must-visit. With its stunning views, mouthwatering cuisine, and exceptional service, I wholeheartedly give this experience a resounding 10/10. Don’t miss out on this slice of paradise in the...
Read moreWhen you pay $109 per head for the food and ferry portion of the visit, you shouldn't have to walk away still hungry. For the money you pay, the serves are too small, especially the pathetic tiny squib of potato with the wagyu flank. The meat was lovely, the sauce beautiful, but you were too tight to give a decent serve of potato to help soak up the sauce or even serve a single mushroom when the description states "...Dijon potato purée, field mushroom...". It is important that you don't send customers home hungry or expect them to pay for extras when it is already at a premium price. 50c worth of potato and a whole mushroom would not destroy your profit margin at these prices. On the positive side, the food was beautiful. 5/5 for flavour and taste - 2/5 for quantity (except the oysters - menu said half dozen and half dozen came). I've deducted a star as well for the "guided buggy tour" which we paid an extra $60 ($30pp) for. Not only was the buggy so sluggish we got left behind, but more disappointing was the "guided tour" which was nothing more than ONE stop around the rushed trip around the golf course and a description of the course. No information about the history of the place or the vegetation or the fauna. Very disappointing. But let me finish with a mention of the staff. Everyone we delt with were very professional and friendly. I'll blame management and not the staff member for the disappointing...
Read moreA must do if visiting Hamilton Island. Book well in advance. We did the lunch special at $85 p.p. (plus 15% because it's a public holiday, in Proserpine !). Includes ferry ride there and back and a fun self-drive buggy tour around the golf course. Nice setting with Island views. You can have entree and main, or main and dessert, but can also order extra off the menu (and I suggest you do). Coffin bay oysters 3-ways to start a great choice if you appreciate oysters, seared scallops if you don't. Barramundi main was perfect, valrhona chocolate cookie and berries dessert was ok if you put all components in every bite. You must have the honeyed carrots as a side, you just must (I scraped every last drop of the remaining liquid out with a spoon). Good cocktails, sub par blanc de blanc. Excellent coffee, best we've had since leaving Melbourne. Our most expensive meal on Hamilton Island but also our best, would do it again in...
