Waterfront Cafe — Restaurant in Devonport

Lets start with outside. Tables and outside chairs not clean and had bird poo on them and chairs full of water. Not a nice place to sit. Went Inside and served pretty quickly but there was no one waiting anyway so expected that. Told no chicken available so there went 1/3 of the menu. Went to order steak sandwich and told no meat then told yes they did (server had little knowledge of what they had).

Ended up ordering the burger and steak sandwich and wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce . Food was good but took far too long for a almost empty place (35 to 40 minutes. Price was on high side at $80 for burger, steak sandwich, wedges with milkshake and can of coke. Any higher and would have avoided. Told 10 minute wait and left it 15 mins. Then when going back told another 10 minutes and then told to come back then. Waited another 15 mins and further 5 mins to be given food. OK, but when not busy and no real other orders I wondered what the hold up was? Didn't seem to be a staffing problem as plenty of people behind the counter.

They have well maintained putt putt for family and kids. Not sure on price for this but seemed players were having a good time.

Overall 3 stars. Would have given 4 but if you want people to have an overall good experience then clean your outside tables and chairs, at least have all items on your menu available and ensure prompt delivery of food as advised at time of order.

Not sure if I would come back as other cafes in area just as good, slightly less costly and cleaner external...

Food is good, mini golf is ok but could be maintained better, service is non existent. We went to the Cafe this morning for breakfast before golf was told we would have sit at the couches with a tiny table because all the other proper tables were reserved although they didn't all have reserved signs, we asked if we could move two seats to a a two seater table were told no because there was going to be a lot of people. We sat at the couch table which was difficult for my elderly mother with 6 empty tables not being used, we had our breakfast nobody arrived to the reserved table. We then played golf with a 5 year old so very slow, we were on the 17th hole when the patrons for the reserved tables arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after we arrived and were told we couldn't use the...

Terrible experience with rude and unprofessional staff. The avocado mash toast was completely burnt, and no one bothered to apologize. When we requested an extra hashbrown, it never arrived. When we tried to reorder, we were told to go to the end of a long queue (at least six people).

When the chef finally brought the hashbrown, she carelessly placed it on my used plate instead of finding a proper spot. We asked to speak to the manager, who listened but was seen laughing as we left. The customer service staff seemed new, so no blame on her, but overall, the restaurant and service were awful.
