No gluten-free pizza, alas. But, quite possibly the best grilled fish I've ever had. My other faves here are the roast pork and juicy Greek salads. They cook in cottonseed oil. Chicken salt costs extra, which doesn't bother me, since it is a neurotoxin. Very generous with the plain salt.

Always lots of friendly banter with the regulars. Phone orders work well 98% of the time. If they get an order slightly wrong, they will go above and beyond to try to rectify it. They are happy to lose on a transaction, to win and retain a life-long customer.

On the whole, this is a very well-organised, hardworking establishment with a passion for hot and tasty food, and much appreciated by many...

Evatt Takeaway is an unpretentious, traditional Aussie takeaway offering standard menu items like fish & chips, a range of salads, and pizza. In my experience of it over many years, it has been consistent in value for money and quality: the owner and older ladies who work with him put a lot of love of good, simple basic food into their cooking. Today, for the first time in a long while, I had their battered fish and potato scallops. It was fabulous, as near perfection as could be. This is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of place, unlikely ever to get a Michelin star, but deserving of a five stars Google review...
