Rose Cottage — Restaurant in District of Tuggeranong

I have been to rose Cottage 2 times before tonight both times were good. Tonight however Thursday 22.02.2018 has ended it forever for me. I took my family for the $10 schnitzel night which happens on Thursday nights. We arrived around 7:10pm and waited for our meals for over an hour and a half. During this time we had gone and asked why it was taking so long, we were told they had over 250 orders, so we waited patiently. When we finally got our orders the schnitzels were dry and over cooked. We only ate them because we were starving by the time we got our meals. I left a piece of my schnitzel and and went back to talk to the staff and show them what we had been given. When I spoke to the girl behind the counter and asked if I could speak to the chef she took offense to what I was saying and threatened to call the Police. I was shocked at her response maybe she had had a few complaints from other customers is all I could put it down to. She then went out the back and after a while a tattooed man, who I believe was the manager, came out and without asking me what the problem was he asked me to leave. I tried to talk to him about the situation but he didn't want to listen, he told me to leave his staff member alone as she was only 18. He then stood over me in a threatening manner and told me I would have to leave. I told him I was very unhappy with our meals and that we wouldn't be back, he replied good. As I walked back to where my family were sitting the tattooed man followed me. I turned around to see what he was doing as I did he said come on lets go, I said I'm not going anywhere until my family are finished eating. He then walked away. when my family finished eating we got up and left. I have had some bad meals and experiences in my time but this would have to be one of the worst, I can guarantee I will never go to Rose cottage again as long as it is managed by these people.

Had the displeasure of eating here twice and both times it was the worst experience ever. This past saturday we went to a wedding held here and the food was so atrocious I couldn't eat it. The beef was so tough and chewy, the potatoes and pumpkin were a mushy mess and the cauliflowet in cheese sauce was just horrible. The cheese sauce had been burnt so badly that the burnt taste had permeated through the whole meal. I felt so sorry for the bride knowing the painstaking attention to detail she had put into making her wedding perfect but this food really let her down. I haven't even mentioned that the room was so small with too many tables squeezed into it that moving around was almost impossible and this was a buffet meal. They did have a fire going but it was at least 3 hours into the reception before it warmed up and then it crackled loudly during the speeches. This place doesn't deserve a rating because I'd say it...

This is a great place to come for a beer and a few drinks atmosphere like no other! We've always done our events here aswell because the pricing was great! Unfortunately now tho... we have had a massive event come up and thought no better place the rose cottage because its such a family friendly place and also have great people working there except $3,000 upfront is a bit extreme. It use to be $650 to hire a spot, we have 50 people confirmed for this event and our family member trying to organise it was pretty much forced to have to have a food and drink tab. With 50 people confirmed so far there will be more then that spent but forcing to have a tab is rediculous concidering it never use to be like that and between 50 people everyone is guaranteed to drink and eat.

This is a major buisness loss for you guys, hopefully these prices don't stay like this so we can continue to have events in the...
