KFC Dubbo East — Restaurant in Dubbo

Well truthfully we try to avoid this kfc ( or kfc in general) as its rare to get good juicy chicken anymore , we seem to get dry , tough chicken more than ever. And the service is slow more than not, This complaint is about the service and I'm not going to say its the young staff as I could see him tring his best , I went to the touch screen and ordered two slushy 's beening Friday after a whole hot day for my kids , I was 4th in line , the young boy got two orders out , in bout 5 minutes , than he went to find cups , and box was empty, so he went back and continued making other meals , by then about another 5- 6 people walked in , than a lady came up and started complaining about her chicken , so boy had to get manager , than some people walked straight to the front counter to order ( in stead of the touch screen ) so he was taking their order, than another woman came up and complaining about her popcorn chicken , than the boy looked for more cups , than walked back making up other meals, then i walked to the front counter and asked boy for my slushy 's, as I had to go, so he went to the manager and asked where the cups where , she said she had no idea!!!! By now id been there 15 od minutes-- I had stepped back by this time , after another 10minutes, I got jack of things and walked up to the boy again and said , please mate I just want two slushy 's, he said sorry I can't find cups , he went looking again, so I said just give me two 7 ups , so he did , I left with my daughter!!!! Al in all, it was close to 30 minutes just to get a drink !! They seem only to have limited staff on the poor young bloke was doing his best , though their was customers waiting every where by the time I left, with about another 6 orders on the board, so service was shocking to say the least . It was 4.30pm on a Friday, ( got there 4.15 left 4.45pm)so you know its going to be starting to be busy , they where so unprepared. I think I'm going to ban us from going there again , this slow service is so common ( not to mention the more than usual ...

Long story short. Do yourself a favour and drive up to the other KFC in the city centre. The store was a mess, it looked liked it had not been cleaned for hours. It's not like we went in a big rush, it was 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Bins were overflowing and the only two clean tables were more than likely the only two tables not used all day. Food and receipts all over the floor. The staff member who served us appeared to be the only one who attempted to meet the minimum standards expected to uphold some of the KFC values they proclaim to have. Won't go into too much detail about the other young workers because they don't need to be sacked, they just need inspiration to do a better job and that comes from the store management. I hope the guy scooping out the coleslaw was paying attention to the portion control whilst he was talking to his buddies on the phone. Anyways I'm not one to leave too much of a negative review especially when it comes to fast food, but even the food was sub par. When a KFC store can do worse than Lithgow and Wellington which has historically had a bad reputation out here in the Central West then something is wrong. KFC is supposed to be about juicy, tender chicken, crispy golden coating, and fast, friendly service — a place you go to enjoy a consistent and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, Dubbo East KFC is the exact opposite of that.

The food was subpar at best. The chicken didn’t have the signature flavor or quality KFC is known for, and the chips tasted like they’d been sitting around for far too long. The overall food experience was deeply disappointing.

The staff seemed clueless, unhelpful, and completely indifferent to providing any sort of decent service. On top of that, the wait time was ridiculously long for what should be a quick meal. The floors and tables were filthy, clearly not cleaned in ages, and the toilets were downright disgusting — I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms at gas stations.

As someone who has worked in fast food, including Subway, I know the importance of cleanliness, customer wellbeing, and providing a good experience. None of that was evident here. The staff clearly aren’t meeting even the bare minimum standards, and the lack of care is unacceptable.

The manager should be absolutely ashamed of how this place is run. This isn’t just bad — it’s a complete disgrace to the KFC brand. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. Save your time, money, and stomach, and go...
