8am Café — Restaurant in East Cannington

This place just went from one of my favorite brunch spots to a complete joke. I ordered a TW milk tea and nearly finished it before I noticed a dead mosquito chilling on the ice like it paid for the drink. Absolutely disgusting.

When I noticed it to the owner before leaving — expecting, you know, a normal human reaction like “Sorry” or “We’ll fix this” — she just stared at me with her mouth wide open like she saw a ghost. No apology. No explanation. Just awkward silence and zero accountability. Seriously?

As a loyal customer who’s always loved their iced latte, beef noodles and egg roll (check the photos, I was rooting for them), this was beyond disappointing. Hygiene clearly isn’t a priority here, and neither is customer service. If you’re serving bugs in drinks and can’t even manage a basic “sorry,” maybe it’s time to rethink...

Stumbled upon this cosy little café and what a find! It truly is a hidden gem — tucked away but absolutely worth the visit. The coffee is spot on, rich and smooth, clearly made with care. What sets this place apart is its unique Taiwanese breakfast selection — everything was fresh, flavourful, and brought a comforting, home-style touch you don’t find often.

Easy to find parking as there are plenty of parking spaces across the street.

There’s also a small kids’ play area, which makes it such a family-friendly spot. It’s rare to find a café where you can enjoy your meal while the little ones are happily entertained. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger.

We celebrated the child birthday at 8 am. and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The food was absolutely delicious! I was thrilled with their offerings. Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken was rich in flavor and brought back great memories of authentic Taiwanese street food. Food was perfectly cooked, with the right balance of spices and textures. I highly recommend trying their popcorn chicken and sandwich, it was a true standout!
