I've been here several times and keep going back because I really like their food and I like to support country businesses. But this time I was not impressed. I was served a pastie that was well and truly overheated (or reheated too many times) which meant it was dry and hard both inside and out. Very unpleasant. And the vanilla slice was at the very least two to three days past its use by time. It also was dry and the custard was cracked and very stale. Not amused. And if you're wondering why I didn't return the items it was because I didn't eat them there. But surely when customers come into a shop acknowledge them - they are your life blood. Also get your systems in place to get everyone served quickly. Its not on to serve a customer their hot food then wait for coffee while you serve to other customers before you make the coffees that tasted like it was burnt. Far too long to wait. We returned next day after going further afield to explore, really pleased still open later in day , Another couple of excellent pies and coffee, skipped the cakes...but we did by some bread to travel on with.
