We saw a sign off the main road for the (Farrell Flat) silo art, and decided to turn in for a quick photo. We snapped our photos and decided, ââwhy not drop into the local pub for a cheeky beer? 3 hours later after some beers and a feed, I finally managed to pull my folks out after having the longest yarn with the owners and other patrons. We had the biggest laughs/laugh-cries in a long time, and we got the unofficial tour of the pub and its interior decor (youâre in for a treat if youâre into Star Wars, Harley Davidson motorbikes, and crocodiles!) and the camping amenities out back.
For food, we got the lamb shank and garlic prawns, which were fab. Hats off to Chef for timing all our meals to come out at the same time so we could all eat together.
This is only a 15-minute drive from Clareâs town center. If you make it out here for the silo art and park at this hotelâs parking, why not drop in after for a quick drink and/or a feed? We donât all need to support local businesses but maybe we could all contribute to the sense of community that local businesses work hard to keep alive?
Chef and Cheryl, thanks for the hospitality. Itâs hard work trying to make a space for the community thatâs also a business for which you earn a living. This probably wonât make a difference, but maybe whoever reads this will spread the word so more people can have the night we just did.
P.s. shoutout to Bossy, Wendy, Wayne, Caro and...

We parked our caravan across the road where there is ample room to do so and checked out the Silo Art. I believe Chef the publican was actually the catalyst for having this artwork done so I think the statement from a previous reviewer was not entirely accurate. A bit of disheartenment due to a lack of support from travellers is possibly why an off the cuff remark about having it painted over might be the reason. You are welcome to park out the back of the pub. It costs nothing but a meal and a beer. What more could you ask for. Yes there is donation camping nearby but there is only toilets and a dump point. Why would you not support a local country pub while you are there. Go on, give the place a go. I bet if you go in with a friendly attitude and open mind, and not expect something for nothing, you might be...
