Was in the area and decided to drop in. Very friendly place & even though there was a queue (always a good sign), they were very prompt with the service. Steak & jalapeño pie- the crust is crispy not hard with a nice flavour. There are big chunks of steak in there and you can actually taste the jalapeño. A very tasty combination and a delicious pie overall!! Priced at $7.50 it's a bargain for a man sized pie. Chocolate éclair- this did taste nice. The pasty had flavour and a good texture, the cream was good as was the custard inside it. Overall very enjoyable. Apple Turnover- very nice with fresh cream, Custard and apple jam. It is a proper man sized portion too! All in all, everything purchased was delicious. Lots of free parking and lots of seating under cover with toilet facilities.

Great bakery - a decent selection of pies and sweet treats. We had potato top pies and a jalapeño and steak pie while sitting at the outdoor seating area, and took a strawberry shortcake and beesting pastry home. The beesting pastry was 10/10 on flavour. Sticky and sweet. The sweets are bit $$$ but worth it for homemade treats. The potato top pie was huge and had a crispy cheese layer on top. My partner commented that the jalapeño steak pie would be better if the rest of the filling was spicy rather than just the pops of jalapeño. Great selection of seating areas both under cover and outdoors. Sufficient parking either out the front or behind the shop while we were there in the afternoon on a Sunday. Staff were great. We will be back 👌

Stopped off on an early morning drive in the hills and found this bakery and cafe along the way. Decent coffee (good, not great), paid $4.40 for a small which seems the going rate these days. Didn't have to wait long for coffee but I did miss the rush. Baked goods looked delicious but didn't try it on this occasion but will definitely drop back in to try. Heaps of parking at the back and front and a good amount of undercover seating outside.

Gidgegannup Bakery & Café is one of those rare treasures that leaves a lasting impression long after the last crumb has vanished. On a recent visit, I had what might well be the best Ned Kelly pie in Western Australia. It’s indulgent, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying – the kind of pie that makes you momentarily close your eyes in gratitude after the first bite. It’s not just a snack; it’s a culinary hug from rural Australia.

But then came the carrot cake “in a cup”, and it was every bit as memorable. The cake itself is exquisitely moist, packed with the natural sweetness of grated carrot and delicate spice. Each spoonful delivers a comforting, pudding-like texture, crowned with a thick swirl of lusciously tangy cream cheese frosting that’s been whipped to perfection. The flavours are balanced, the sweetness restrained, and the presentation delightfully unpretentious.

Friendly staff, a down-to-earth country atmosphere, and honest food done exceptionally well. If you’re anywhere near the area, make the detour. Your tastebuds...

Made a special trip to this bakery & cafe to order coffee and have something to eat. Asked for 2 cappuccinos in cups but were told only come in paper takeaway cups because of Covid virus. Now every other cafe I go to are quite happy to serve you coffee in a cup and saucer. They obviously don't mind washing up their crockery. Staffer became annoyed with us for asking for cups and rushed us thru. We sat out side their rather drab outdoor area and waited quite some time for the ordinary coffee. The coffee was spoilt by the large takeaway paper cup and wasn't strong like a cappuccino in a small cup. Of course we had to eat out of paper bags what we had ordered to eat as they were not offering plates either! Not good. Never again.

Response to owner. We only list unsavory venues here. Hence all the good venues and there are many do not get listed here. Train up your staff and pull your socks up before you get more bad reviews. What business's like yours forget is that the customer is always right. No customer,...

Grab a pie here regularly on my way to the farm and their potatoe top pie is first-rate, though all their offerings are great. Generous cheese-topped mash over a savoury mince filling and crusty case make this a proper meal. If they added peas, it would round it off nicely! Not one to attempt eating while on the road though. I occassionally also get a coffee eclair, which is true to its French origins, with a creamy coffee custard, light shell and some nice icing. A couple of weeks ago tried their lemon meringue pie, which is often a bit hit and miss around Perth. This one knocked it out of the park with light, frothy, flambeed meringue (not for those who like a more cooked, crunchy meringue) over a smooth light lemon custard (but not too lemony). The surprise was the thin, crunchy pastry shell, where usually I'm let-down by a thick, stodgy case, making it complete a tasty trifecta. Could be my new go-to cake! Keep up the good work. Can't rate the ambience as...
