So, there were a lot of staff standing around when we came in… we started with about 4 different entrees… mushroom and celeriac was like glue and tasteless, the bread and oil/balsamic - only the bread was good, the dip of the day with pita bread was good but the dip had too much mint and the last entree was a type of bread with pear and honey and it was bad - 2 of us spit it out … this was almost $100 there in entrees. Next was mains, the lasagna was lacking in body, seemed frozen, drowned in cheese which was overwhelming only had 1 bite, the chicken was a very small portion and it was dry- the lentil mix it came with was disgusting. Pork came with a maple jus and quiet frankly it was disgusting, it was poured over the ‘crunchy crackle’ which anyone knows sauce makes it soggy and chewy- the cabbage was burnt, the pork itself was good when it wasn’t touched by the horrid jus, the steak itself was good but $50 for a stead with a bulb of garlic as the side is just ridiculous… so the mains were barely touched again being almost $200 there… then had to get sides since the steak and pork came with not much to eat besides the protein… so the truffle mash was bland and gluey, the broccolini was mostly burn and not enjoyable, the carrots weren’t cooked properly and it had a not very nice honey mustard glaze and the chips w/ aoli was cold… so another $50-60 in sides that were all terrible. So we were all hungry and were praying it was like that episode of Hell’s Kitchen, where all the meals are terrible but the desserts were amazing… it was exactly like that, the desserts were really good - but unfortunately the pricing of the meals is beyond a joke, which explains why there is no patrons and no atmosphere… the menu needs to be revised and fixed. We paid for the meals and gave critics at the checkout. Will not recommend...

Have been here a few times over the years, however recently have really been let down here. A lack of ice in the drinks, the need for the air com to be set at 24 or just lower. First I grabbed a glass for some water as we just arrived this smelt like egg, so did another 4 glasses on the table, the Coke I asked for was post mix with no bubbles to much syrup. Asked for something else and was given a cold can of coke and a glass with no ice.

Mains came out in a seperate order with 4 of the 6 meals coming about 15min before the 2 last meals. Then when I received my 500gm T-bone I cut into it to be greeted by u rendered fat and a raw centre mind you this is already 15min past everyone else's meal arriving so they are finishing as mine arrives then it needs to be redone which means at least another 10min wait.

Needless to say I cancelled my steak order and refused to accept anything from a kitchen that can't even cook a steak to medium rare and chips well. I mean the chips are so different in size there is no chance they will be cooked the same.

Will not being attending here again for sometime or till I hear from someone that's been and tell me it's improved as this wasn't an enjoyable birthday experience at all.

The restaurant manager was being very sympathetic but my issue wasn't with him or his servers it was the improperly cooked food I received from the kitchen that worried me the most.

Good luck of you decide to try your...

We are locals that came for the first time on Valentine’s Day.

  1. apart from google maps there was absolutely nothing that we saw that the restaurant was called “Mandy’s on the mountain” I actually had to ask the waitress because I was concerned we had gone to the “Mercure” rather than Mandy’s.
  2. the girl that walked us to the table just left us there - it was by chance about 15 mins later that another girl asked if we wanted a drink. 3 ) the sound system was on par with my radio above the fridge - tired it and detracted from our experience surpassed only by the carpet - who on earth thought those colours were ever going to go well together !
  3. tables were rickety and we discussed the idea of more plants to improve the atmosphere
  4. food was absolutely fantastic ! We had lamb cutlet / steak and risotto.really great food ! 10/10
  5. selling the sides as extras particularly when we didn’t realise you had to purchase them is never appreciated by customers - at the very least put them directly with the main menu as opposed to hidden on the back page. Had the waitress not pointed it out our date would have been a disaster.
  6. consider a “locals night “ and market yourselves to Dayboro / Samford / north Brisbane a bit more with some sort of local discount offer once a week . Kind regards...

We stayed 2 nights at Mercure Clear Mountain, at the time of checking I was not advised to make a booking if I want to have dinner. On the second day we arrived at the restaurant at 6.20mm for dinner and were told we can have a table at 8.00pm because they are fully booked. We were hungry and my husband asked if we can have some chips and as we have a drink voucher to redeem, we were offered to take a seat on the sofa. Very uncomfortable as there was no cushion and I do have back problems . The picture was taken at 7.20pm, one hour after and the restaurant was still mostly empty. I was so looking forward to have a good meal instead we had a bowl of chips.

Came across Mandy’s on the Mountain by chance, and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The view is absolutely stunning, and we were pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. We ordered the fish and chips and the steak — both were well-cooked, flavourful, and satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff handled two large group bookings with ease, so I’d definitely recommend it for bigger gatherings or family catch-ups. A great find with a view to match!

We attended a dinner here and the food was delivered fast and it was absolutely delicious! The staff were very polite and let us take our time to order. I had a delicious steak that was perfect and my daughter had a two cheeseburgers that she loved. I would definitely recommend coming here, but make sure you book a table first as it can get very busy sometimes.
