Pies and bakery items aren’t awful, which is why this bakery has been in business for so many years.

(Edit: this particular trip my pepper steak pie was luke warm and my vanilla slice pastry was undercooked. Potato pie needed lots of sauce as dry and needed flavour).

But the service is hit or miss. There are no prices on display, and things are NOT cheap.

There’s never been prices on display, but today customers were backlogged as service was so long, (one woman walked out after she was next in line for the whole time I was waiting) I thought the server indifferent but then realised overwhelmed as she then said she didn’t have time to give prices 🤯 😳, so this is an ask to management to please support your staff by providing better training at minimum, and prices for customers to view. Stark difference from when I first enjoyed coming here.

This great bakery in the small town of Greta is a good place to stop for breakfast or lunch. It's a tidy clean and large bakery with plenty of seating to use or can go across the road to the park if you feel. The bacon and egg roles are legendary. A must for breakfast goers. The sausage rolls and pies ain't bad either. If you have a sweet tooth I recommend the apple pie or turnover or maybe the vanilla slice. I ain't the biggest fan of their coffee. It ain't swill but it's for sure not a great coffee. Many times I find it bitter or burnt. But this is the only real draw back to this excellent bakery. Make sure you get there before 10am most days, run out of bread constantly. Pies are too expensive. And I used to get a coffee there every morning until I got told I have to spend over $10 to use eftpos, Was happy to pay a fee, But the lady there cut me short and said nup it's $10 minimum now. you've just lost a customer of 3 years. I used to make sure my wife bought bread here to look after local businesses. now I make sure she avoids the place. Maccas dont have a minimum spend..
