UPDATE: Owner contacted me to see what they could do, so increasing review from 3 to 4 stars. They’re trying, hopefully they’ll work on the coffee quality, and they have other things going for them.

My own experience was one-star, but I can tell the place is better than that so I gave it three overall originally.

Good: it’s a lovely location. The verandah is a great place to sit and look at the water dragons. And the staff are nice. When this was an independent cafe in years past, that was plenty to make it a regular stop.

Bad:

Oliver’s menu is not my speed, really. “Healthy” fast food chain with sandwiches and their own brand of snacks. If you’re at a petrol station food court it’s probably better than McDonalds. But it's still fast food, and if I'm going that way I'd rather go all in.

A regular coffee, a small hot chocolate and a packet of chips came to $16. Hipster cafe prices without hipster cafe quality.

The soy cappuccino was brown hot water, which we could not finish. The hot chocolate was so bad that my nine-year-old, who is a big fan of hot chocolate, would not drink it. My teenager described it as “technically a hot chocolate”. Even the chips were not good, and have gone uneaten. Have you ever had bad kettle chips that taste like synthetic wood pulp? There you go.

So look. Maybe the sandwiches are good – I didn't try them. Other reviews will tell you. Hopefully the coffee and hot chocolate are better now. But my own experience was six bucks for...

Location: Oliver’s Real Food, Pacific Highway & Cameron Street, Maclean, NSW, 2463, Australia.

Service: Very good helpful staff. We did not have to wait long for our order at all.

Decor: Seems like an old homestead done up to be an Oliver’s, it works so well in this country location. There are tables inside and outside on a beautiful balcony overlooking the South Arm River. We were in a hurry & ate in the car, but it would have been so lovely to sit & relax in this spectacular location.

Atmosphere: Country people friendly.

Bathrooms: Did not use.

Value for money: Always great for healthy fresh food.

Drinks: Chai Latte & Protein Punch Super Smoothie - both VERY good.

Food: We both selected the ‘All day omelette with sourdough toasted bread’. This is THE best and freshest thing Oliver’s make. The omelettes are always packed full of veggies & available day or night. Highly recommended.

Synopsis: This Oliver’s has to be in one of the most picturesque locations. It is staffed by friendly young country girls who made us feel very welcome. The service & speed of everything was exceptional. A HIGHLY recommended place to stop on the highway.. Stay &...

If you're looking for a charming and picturesque spot to stop on your drive from Sydney to the Gold Coast, look no further than Olivers Ferry Park in New South Wales. This old-school rest area is a wonderful spot to pull over, stretch your legs, and take in the stunning surroundings.

One of the highlights of Olivers Ferry Park is the gallery, which showcases local artwork and crafts. It's a great place to pick up a unique souvenir or gift for loved ones back home. And if you're a nature lover, you'll be blown away by the stunning views of the river.

What's really special about this location is its old-school charm. It's a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the highway, and you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. There's a peacefulness and simplicity to the place that's hard to come by in our fast-paced modern world.

Overall, I highly recommend making a stop at Olivers Ferry Park on your next road trip. Whether you're looking to take a break from the road, check out some local art, or just soak up the natural beauty of the area, this spot is sure to leave a...

DOG FRIENDLY and A MINUTE OFF THE HIGHWAY... Elissa went above and beyond, helping us choose our meals, cleaning our table, and making sure we were happy with our meal and service. Our beef burgers were delicious, I liked the sweet potato fries, but hubby thought they were a bit stale. Sitting outside gives you views of the river. But limited seating inside. Dog bowls available for your pooch and us next door to an art gallery. For 2 upgraded meals with water and the extra smoothie, we paid around $60. Comparable to everywhere else. It was a bit expensive, but lunch beginning at 11am, good service and quick detour off the highway made it worth it.

A wonderful location on the river, there's water dragon lizards basking on the rocks and lots of birds in the trees. We ordered a l sit down vegan lunch but not sure what happened as it took a lengthy time to receive, we had to go and ask what was the delay. We had a vegan burger and the vegan moroccan bowl. The food was good, and the moraccan bowl had a tasty sauce with mixed vegetables on a bed on rice. When you're travelling on the road, this is a good stop. The outdoor seating is Dog friendly and offers a beautiful view. After lunch, go and check out the art gallery next door.
