Its a nice venue with a fabulous out door area for when the weather is nice and/or they have live music.
The inside is a different story. Its an old pub, and though they have done their best, its still old. That's not a bad thing as they have decorated with photos of yesteryear from around the area and Tassie in general. The loos a clean though a bit difficult to handle if your a infirm or like me, disabled.
The menu is classic pub fare with a little flair, reasonably priced and the serves are generous enough that you will not leave hungry. Especially if you order a Parmi. The bar is a little bit old school in that there isn't a great selection of non alcoholic drinks or wines, but again, it does suit the local. The only other annoying thing is that they only take cash. they don't have eftpos across the counter, but they do have an ATM in the foyer, so its not too annoying.
So an update: they now have eftpos. Have for a while actually but I've been too tardy to update. The place has lost none of its country feel and there's live music every Friday and most weekends. The menu mainstays dont really change bar currently not being able to order salad due to cost and/or lack of ingredients. One touch I really like is they have Willie Smith's hot spiced apple cider in winter. A nice change to a glass of wine or beer...

While it wasn’t what I had anticipated, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy, crunchy exterior, and paired with a tangy vinaigrette salad on the side, it made for a satisfying dish.
We also ordered a garlic bread, but it came as a full loaf—so I’m not sure whether to call it garlic bread or a garlic loaf! It was soft, not the crunchy texture I was hoping for, and it lacked that strong garlic punch I love in good garlic bread. Still, it was a decent addition to the meal.
The service was quick and efficient, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the ambience of the place. The quirky decor reminded me of the cozy bars you often see in cartoons, which added a playful, nostalgic touch to the whole experience. All in all, a good meal with a few...
