We've been to this establishment before and it was a good place for a meal and a drink. It still is. The food and drink selections are reasonable and the turnaround time from order placement to table service is relatively short. A good sign of a well run kitchen.
Where the side is let down, is when it gets busy, like it did this Father's Day in 2022. They advertised on social media far and wide, to encourage patrons to attend their cafe for Father's Day but insisted on people making a booking. We did make the booking and Sistas followed up a few days later to ensure the booking was still in place. Upon arrival on the day, they tried to tell my wife that our booking was to be on a ridiculously small high table with equally high chairs, which seems to be reserved for people waiting to pick up their takeaways. When we said it wasn't good enough and made to leave, the usher asked us if we would use an outside table booked for someone else, as long as we left by the table's scheduled time. Poor show. Our mistake was in accepting the offer as the usher kept a constant vigilance on our dining progress (making it very obvious) and as it came closer to the time for the next scheduled booking (which was to be only 55mins from our arrival) she came over and repeated to us that the next couple would be arriving in a few minutes. That was a real irritation. Tacky table management, considering many other tables were vacant, with scheduled bookings much later in time. The usher appeared to be unfamiliar at scheduling and the situation reflected poorly on the good name of the restaurant. While there were quite a few tables empty, we observed many groups of people, some up to seven in number, peering in to the area and seeing the booking signs on the table and then walking away. Management may not be aware of the large amount of unspent cash that avoided the cafe...
Read more“We Still haven't Managed to Actually Dine Here!” According to many of the other reviews, this cafe appears to be a bit 'hit-and-miss! Yes - it's a very good location and apparently the coffee is also very good (apparently). However, as we have attended here twice now, we have never actually eaten here as both of our customer service experiences were very bad!
The place gets VERY busy (mainly because its the only cafe around in that exclusive little area) so getting a seat was impossible on our first visit and the service was exceptionally slow (no doubt some of the young wait staff couldn't be bothered coming in to work on that day!).
So, let's give it a second chance - so we did on a Saturday mid-morning for brunch and what an incredibly bad experience again that turned out to be! We were greeted by grumpy & rude teenage staff who basically gave us only 3 minutes to order as their menu was about to change over to their lunch menu, so once again we left hungry.
Their customer service 'training' seems to be very poor, as maybe they perceive they have the area/location all wrapped-up so they don't need to train staff. Well on some days - it's bad! We notice that the further North you go, seemingly the worse quality customer service becomes. Definitely needs improving. We have still not eaten here so unfortunately we still can't comment on the food.
Here's a golden nugget for the owner - get rid of the small carpark which blocks the best view of the ocean, build decking out over the carpark area, go alfresco with umbrellas & benches/tables and turn this small place into something Perth can be proud of. by...
Read moreOverall a positive yet slightly perplexing coffee run experience, must say I was not expecting to have my concept of take-away cup sizing challenged in a confusing fashion. Seemed simple enough - presented with two sizes atop the counter, a situation I have encountered before and navigated comfortably. Small and Large, the usual suspects.. an easy call at the end of and all of that day - Large. Alas - Not today, No sir. Small and MEDIUM(!) They says to me they says.. now I have no issue divulging from the options presented that MEDIUM is, in fact, synonymous with large in this scenario. Easy enough equation that one. The true conundrum lies within said labelling and the implications therein.. this is no disrespect to MEDIUM in any way, it serves a function and most certainly has its place - that place being smack bang in the middle of SMALL and LARGE, it's entire existence is created within the confines of these other two sizes being available in order to constitute a MEDIUM sized serving having relevance by comparison of the total OZ content contained irrespective of the cups capacity, respectfully. MEDIUM, by its very definition, simply cannot be presented as the largest quantity as that position remains largely and permanently filled by its factual and rightful champion that we already live by and that is the almighty LARGE. That said, very enjoyable coffee....
