Mihi Tavern — Restaurant in Ipswich City

Have been twice. Once a few months ago for a catch up d dinner with my sister & her partner, the second time was Friday for my work Christmas party.

You already using the QR code at the table and the first time we ordered it took almost an hour for them to bring up food out to the point that we thought they'd forgotten about us.

When the food came out it was good but not amazing for the wait time. But definitely a good meal and great value for money. The drinks are a bit pricey though.

However my work Christmas party on Friday the staff were amazing and they were very accommodating for a booking. They're definitely decorated the area beautifully for the time of year in the staff were very helpful, prepared & friendly. They were into the spirit of Christmas and lots of fun to banter with

We're all ordered and brown of on train and main meals and desserts which were delicious delivered on time and definitely worth the money better than my first experience.

They also run trivia and karaoke and have a huge projector screen for the sports bar. They have a nice area for the smokers and their outdoor dining is modern and gives a good fun vibe.

Their meals are very filling and they offer take away if you can't eat it all. There's also a bottle shop next door if you want the party to keep on kicking.

Overall, a great place to go for a night of enjoyable socialising, events or to have a few after a hard day at work. A hidden gem of Ipswich. 4/5...

Visited our daughter on Saturday 26/07/2025 and took her out to MiHi for dinner. Car parking... Let me say that if you want to have a large tavern with indoor/outdoor bistro, sports bar, pokies and general bar then you NEED parking. The total lack of available parking was absurd! I done laps of the tiny parking area until I was lucky enough to find someone leaving. Once inside, we waited at the reception of the bistro to be served. And by wait I mean wait. For a good 5 minutes while bar staff were too busy to even acknowledge our existence. Eventually, a young man greeted us and led is to a table (we had booked a table online). From the table, I used the convenience of the Q code to order our meals. 1 x Godfather Parmi, 1 x Regular Parmi, 1 x Rib Fillet, 1 x Canadian Club, 1 x Somersby Apple and 1 x Coolridge water (no table water listed on your menu?). The order was completed and paid for at 6:50PM. Our drinks arrived within about 5 minutes, then we sat, waiting, again. 40 minutes later, our meals finally arrived! The meals were delicious, although the fillet was medium at best and it was ordered medium-rare. I am sorry to say though, that service was an equal to the parking... Horrendous. Would I go again? I'll be looking for alternatives personally. Would I recommend? If your lucky enough to get a park and lucky enough to get good service then you'll enjoy... But that's too...

We went out to Mihi Tavern to celebrate the other day. My partner had the Mexican Parmy, my son had the Queenslander, my daughter had the kids meal with chicken nuggets, chips and brocoli, and I had the 250g rump steak. My partner was very impressed with the size of her meal, as well as the quality. She is looking forward to trying other Chicken Parmy cariants which are on the menu. My son loved the burger and accompanying wings, and is looking forward to trying other menu items. My daughter, she enjoyed her meal as well. My steak was ordered medium rare, and came out medium-well done, with some parts of the steak being well done. The meat was still tender, but I would have preferred it to be cooked to my preference. Apart from my steak, the only other issue we experienced was with the online ordering feature from our table. For some reason my iPhone encountered issues when attempting input our table number to finish the order. This happened twice, which wasted a good 15 minutes to half an hour before I attended the bar to order our meals. My partner's phone (Google) seemed to work later in the evening when we ordered drinks at the table. If it weren't for the ordering issue, and my steak not being cooked to my preference, I would have given Mihi Tavern 4 or 5 stars.
