Maya Asian Cusine — Restaurant in Jindabyne

Did I dine in or takeout? Well I was forced to take out due to the cooks not wanting anymore dine in. Got dressed up all nice and cute to get to the door, ring the gong and be met with a server who said no more dine in but takeaway. We got there just after 8 so why would we not be seated if they close at 9:30.

They had customers in there dining which I feel if there are people eating in, and you look past, you could come in and have a meal. We were planning to have a drink and enjoy the vibe they had going on. We got takeaway and the flavour is great but the portion sizes are whack. Everything is is scaled down. The noodles are small, the veggies are mini.

The services was eh.

In conclusion the portions were small, the service wasn’t amazing and it made no sense we could sit down and wait for our meals but not get a table and eat in.

First of all it was just after 8 as we were confused with why we couldn’t be seated but you should specify outside before we make our way in. The request for a table wasn’t gracious from your servers side not us. We just asked if we could get a table for 4 and were confused when we couldn’t but saw people eating in. Also I didn’t say we didn’t like the wait time. We don’t mind waiting for food and we weren’t glumly, we just chatted. We weren’t offered drinks and if we were that makes less sense that we could have drinks and sit down but not eat in. How about instead of being passive aggressive towards customers, take on board the feedback line other places do. But what do you expect from a place with low reviews and the owner defensively responding.

Wouldn’t have written a review if the food was good. But it wasn’t worth the price and...

I’ve given this place two chances, and both occasions it’s been absolutely horrendous.

First time it was frozen because the heating wasn’t working and they were burning wet branches in the fire which just resulted in everyone in the restaurant eating in full snow gear with smoke burning their eyes. Comical stuff.

The second time we were ignored for 5 minutes and other people were skipping the queue to get served, then the owner told me that it was my fault I didn’t follow her as she wandered off into the kitchen (lol what?), I didn’t even complain about it. Eventually sat down after getting massive shade from her. What happens next? Yeah, no one takes our order and we can’t get anyone’s attention - the only reason I’m still here is because I’m so tired - and then the cherry on the cake - the owner and a staff member have a massive argument in front of everyone about clearing a table, very uncomfortable to witness, but also hilarious!

I’d absolutely 100% recommend steering clear of here - the food is quite good to give credit to the kitchen - but the people running it have no idea about hospitality - it’s genuinely up there with two of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant, but at least we can laugh about it now, right?

I do not usually leave bad reviews even though the service or food is pretty terrible however this one deserves a review and for everyone to know that the Customer Service, and Food Serving is pretty poor. We have ordered the following: 1x Beef Fried Rice - Little did we know that the rice is non existent and filled with Veggies instead, we had to order plain fried rice instead 1x Chicken Fried Rice - the rice is non existent and filled with Veggies instead, we had to order plain fried rice instead 1x Lamb with King Prawn - Lamb was very stringy and tough and the meal had 2x littlest prawn I have ever seen 1x Mongolian Beef - 2 small slice of beef was served and the rest was veggies as you can see on the photo below 1x Green Curry - 3 slices of small slice of chicken and very bland 4x Chicken Skewer - It's not that bad however the serving was too small

Customer Service: The old Lady was quite rude and rushing us to order

In my opinion I would suggest for the business owner to invest on some cooking classes for the chef, or change of chef.

Overall the water and the beer was fantastic.

We were nice enough that we have stayed and paid for everything (except for the Beef with King prawn) some people wouldn't pay for...
