Glenarty Road winery in Karridale, WA, is an experience that perfectly blends rustic charm with refined culinary and viticultural excellence. Visiting on a Tuesday, we opted for the farm tour paired with a degustation lunch, arriving just as the doors opened to a stunning location surrounded by picturesque gardens that felt both lush and naturally untamed. The warm welcome from the staff set the tone for the day, and we were invited to start with a wine tasting. The staff guided us through 10 distinct wines with patience and expertise, answering our questions and making us feel engaged and informed.
The farm tour itself, with two other couples (six people total), was an intimate exploration led by Sandy, whose passion and knowledge added depth to the experience. It was fascinating to see how the food is grown, giving us an appreciation for the farm-to-table philosophy that drives the venue. While the tour didn’t include a peek into the kitchen—a detail I would have loved—it was nonetheless insightful and showcased the dedication that goes into every aspect of the production.
The real highlight, however, was the food. The dishes, while simple in concept, were executed so skillfully that the fresh, high-quality ingredients shone through in every bite. It was clear that the chefs and kitchen staff put great care into their craft, creating meals that were both interesting and deeply satisfying. The table service was equally impressive, with most staff members taking the time to share stories about the farm and the family behind it, reinforcing the strong sense of community and dedication that defines Glenarty Road.
Though the experience is on the pricier side—our lunch, drinks, and a couple of bottles to take home came in at over $460—it’s easy to see why. The attention to detail, the commitment to quality, and the effort required to grow and produce food and wine of this caliber are significant. It’s a place I’d love to revisit, especially to see how the menu evolves with the seasons. Glenarty Road is a true testament to the rewards of sustainable farming and culinary passion, making it a worthwhile splurge for a...

Read moreHad a wonderful 30th Anniversary celebration lunch here. Glenarty Road is around 30 minutes out of Margaret River. It is a beautiful little restaurant that's part of the farm/winery that believes in sustainability and regenerative growing. It offers a farm to table menu, a 3 or 5 course set menu that serves food that is beautifully presented and optionally paired with selected wines. there is also the option of a farm tour. The 5 course menu costs $130 and $35pp extra if you want the farm experience tour. The five paired wines are a $45pp option. we went for the 5 course "Every Acre Feast" and selected one of the wines we really enjoyed from our tasting before the meal (5 wine tasting $15pp). The food in each course was truly beautifully presented with great attention to detail. The main for the menu is usually lamb or pork. We had been told by friends the lamb was exceptional but on our visit pork was the main. Each course was tasty, fresh and vibrant. My wife and I would not usually choose pork but we thought we'd give this a try and whilst it was all generally beautifully done our pork main was a little overcooked and a bit chewy. We probably would have been happier with lamb. Apart from that, service was excellent with great explanations of each course and the restaurant itself was a really lovely place to be on this special occasion. We must return another time to try the lamb menu and again enjoy the hospitality of this...
